Default Good FMIC for the price?

Hey guys, i just got the news from my shop, that they're going to use a differnt distributor to get my kit(because i put the money down more than 9 weeks ago) and that it's going to be here on monday! But the thing is, they don't have the intercooler in stock. The owner of the shop said he'll throw in one of their custom Front Mounts for 400 dollars more than what greddy wants for theirs.
the dimesnions on the intercooler are...

~1060 CI (with end tanks)
28 inches wide(without end tanks)
10 inches high
3 1/2 inches wide

so the custom intercooler setup is costing me $1400, 400 more than what greddy wants for the type 24 intercooler. Is this a good deal?
me, being the eager idiot that i am, said yes!!!!
and that's going to be done on monday as well.
it's the same intercooler on the car seen here : http://www.pruvenperformance.com/dan.html

im sure its a nice intercooler, but if you pay $1400 for an ic , let alone a custom ic you should be shot on the spot .
im sure its costing them about $200-300 tops to make it .
m\y Ic is just a little smaller thna that and i paid only $325+ shipping for it . and im sure its just as good quality

greddy fmic's are beautiful, no custom one can compare to the greddy fmic
the fit is perfect and they look freakin awesome
screw that $1400 if you can get a greddy for $1000

1400 includes labor on the install of the intercooler and fitting, and piping

what i'm mostly concerned about is not having to buy a bigger intercooler later on. I planning on a 400+ whp setup by the end of 2 years, and this intercooler meets those standards.

OH GOD NO! Not a $1400 Pruven intercooler!!!!

Have you dropped your car off yet? How much are they getting you for the turbo kit and installation? Pruven charges WAAYYY too much for Honda work... DSM's they are the guys... but Honda stuff, go elsewhere... TRUST ME... I speak from experience with friends... if you like, i have a friend that owns a shop on the berlin turnpike that does KICKASS work... PM me... I'm just warning you, BE CAREFUL with Pruven & Hondas..

That intercooler is waaay to long of a core size. It is unneeded and that long of a core will have pressure drops. It is better to go taller then wider. I can get you a pwr unit thats 24x11x3 core size with endtanks for 595 bucks shipped. That is plenty for for 600whp...I doubt you need and more then that?

they charged me 2500 for the 18g turbo kit, which is the cheapest i've been able to find it from ANY distributor. and greddy wants 1000 for the intercooler as well, so they charged me a grand for that, but their distributor doesn't have it, so i'm using their custom intercooler. They charged me 245 for a tial bov, i think 160 for a walbro fuel pump, 600 for a thermal 3 inch catback. 290 for an s-afc. They are chargin me 1200 for install of turbo kit, which includes dyno tuning.

try looking around for better prices man, i agree w/ ScrapinSi about the prices being way too high for their work. BTW How many hours of dyno tuning is included w/ the 1200 they are charging?

unless your a DSM guy, i really didnt read, i would not go to mainly a DSM tuner,
its like me taking my car to DRT, or rpmnyc,

go to a honda tuner, why dont you install it yourself?
its really a bolt on off thing, then take it to get tuned, shiet, Ill installit for $400 and take it to get tuned

Wow, I payed 675 shipped for the type 31 and at the time the type 24 was only like 850. That price is way high and the install is nothing. Try Titan Motorsports in Florida.
