Re: good egt temps on turbo integra (tygsr)
I seriously doubt he's running 1400c, that's extremely high. 1400f is more reasonable. I like to see my turbo B18C1 at around 1400F at wot under boost and between 1000F and 1200F on light highway cruising.

I never go over 1220 F, but my probe is at the bottom of the downpipe so I guess I should add ~200 more degrees? ------>1420 F

Re: good egt temps on turbo integra (boosted hybrid)
Well ok I think this is all relative... right now I'm running on lowered timing around 12 degrees approx... my highest egt reaches 830c at WOT... Reason is this.
With lowered timing the spark plugs are igniting the mixture later then normal causing less cylindar pressure, this in turn makes the exiting gases hotter, causing to egt to read hotter then the "acceptable 800c"....
However since lowered timing is usually safer to gaurd against detonation with a turbo setup till things get tuned...
So I dunno what to say, lowered timing = good, but high egts CAUSED by lowered timing = bad?? its an oxymoron, but I know my engine is probably safer at the moment... I plan on advancing it up to 14deg as soon as I have access to a timing gun.

Re: good egt temps on turbo integra (shadowdawn)
hmm....you guys are making me worry, my EGT's wot were close to 870c and 880c sometimes, the probe is right before the turbo...
