Default Going for turbo Rebuild Question of CR for Pistons?

Probably gonna be a sleeved b16 block forged everything, How much boost could I handle with 10:1 compression? Or would I be better off dropping it to 9:5 for some saftey?

Whats up Delaware friend

10:1 is fine if you are gonna get it tuned. people go low like 9:1 to be safe when they are running "the hack" or and fmu setup.

if you wanna boost a lot, i would drop the CR down to 9.1. if your thinking about keeping the higher compression so you can make more power at lower boost levels, your making your engine do most of the power production. if you drop the CR and boost more, then your making your turbo do more of the power production.
IMO, turning up the boost is a better way of making power than having a higher CR. just get lower CR pistons and up the boost

I would say 10:1.

I am set on 10:1. Id rather make the same power at a lower boost level.

Higher comp give faster spool, less intake temp charge since boost isnt as high.

It was hard for me to decide between high and low comp. On low comp, you can run more timing to make the power also and not worry about california 91 octane as much.

Search the archives and there are lots of topics on this.

10:1 is fine ..

My car is 10:1, producing 426whp @ 21psi on a clayton dyno.

10:1 is good if you rather run less boost with faster spool. you can even go 9.5:1 for a piece of mind if it makes you feel better
