Re: going turbo help?

well first 7 psi is gonna be different power levels depending on your turbo you use

130k on boosted motors... might not last a long time, maybe will depends on a lot of factors such as engine health, how much power your puttin through it, how much you beat it, and maybe tune

what are your power goals and whats your budget?

Re: going turbo help?

wats more important
so my motor will last?

Re: going turbo help?

what do you mean whats more important? if you are gonna boost you need to get engine management, such as chrome which is free but you need to get your ecu chipped. then you need to get it tuned by a tuner. My tune cost me about 350, gettin the ecu chipped is about 60-75 bucks, plus whatever program you choose to tune with. Chrome is freeish but it can get really expensive if your looking for more options.

I would definently stick around and read all you can... dont rush into boost

i boosted my stock engine and regret it now... i would have def. gone back and rebuilt it with good parts

Re: going turbo help?

yea ima take my time
but how can i boost around 15psi safely?

azandford Mar 28, 2010 06:52 PM

Re: going turbo help?

first you said 7 now you said 15 psi do you know that on dif. turbo sizes that 7 psi equals different power gains?

do you know anything about cars? have you done any research or do you expect to have everything handed to you?

what you need to do is forget about boost, learn how to install a cold air intake, exhaust, headers, and so forth until you are comfortable with taking and putting things back together on your car

i know you wanna go fast but believe me this is not something you want to rush into or cheap out on because in the end your gonna spend more money

im finding that semihard to believe based off the fact you want to know how tob boost 7psi safely and then up to 15psi....

i keep reiterating the fact that dif. size turbo equals dif. power on dif. psi get it?

if you have done your research then you already must know the answer... theres nothing wrong wit being humble
