Default going FI, will i need a new clutch?

okay currently i have a b16a2 with a aftermarket clutch installed. i'm getting a drag turbo kit and will be running 8psi of boost. will i need to get a new clutch to be able to keep it from slipping? which clutch would be recomended if so and what type of holding force will i need?

how many miles are on your current clutch? I would think that a lot has to do with its present condition. It will definitely wear out quickly, but it depends on how hard you abuse it...i have no idea though what time frame you are looking at. My car has 45k on a stock disc with clutchmasters pressure plate and i'm planning on going turbo. We'll see how long she lasts

i dont know what brand of clutch it is i'm assuming it's an oem from a GSR tranny setup because that is the tranny the car currently has.

anymore suggestions as to what type. wont a 6 puck not really be streetable?

Well is it aftermarket like you said first, or OEM like you just said?

6 puck is plenty streetable.

my stock clutch lasted me 7 months I would use your current clutch until it starts slipping.

i've been using my stock clutch for the past 2 months...it slips a little when i hit full boost but its definitely hanging in there. For how much longer though is the question, haha.

There are alot of people who use alot of different clutches. All the clutches out there are good. now depending on your set up.. which is not to High , you can use one of the following.

ACT 6 puck ( chatter )
ACTION 6 puck ( chatter also) they do make them in sprung hub also.
Clutch masters stage 3/4 both sprung hub (quite)
Clutch Net stage 3 ,6 puck sprung
Exedy full face kit ..VERY CHEAP$$$ but too soft and is a stock replacement
Hyper clutch 6 puck Sprung hub ( very slight Chatter)
RPS turbo clutch ( old school ) but still works
Unorthodox stage 3 kit full face or 6 puck.

i believe it's an oem clutch the guy said it was a power sacs but i've never heard of em so i'm assuming it's oem (i bought the car from someone else as an unfinished project). thanks for the suggestions i think i'll stick with the one i have now till it slips. once it's gone then i'll get another.

I'm using a 6 spuck cluthnet state 2, sprung. I like it, it did take awhile to get used to though. Just keep what you got now until it starts to go.
