Default Going From 81mm to 83mm, which Headgasket?

Quick Question guys,

I'm going with a bigger bore from 81mm to 83mm, and I was wondering if I should use the OEM headgasket and make it bigger or just go with an 83mm headgasket from Golden Eagle or something.

Please post your suggestions/or what you have personally went with that works.
Thanks - Fred

that is all that GE does. they take stock gaskets and modify them. they also machine out the dowl pin holes for lsvtec conversions.. we have a ls vtec but we are using a vtec head gasket with it.

so what your saying is that OEM and GE are equally as good, but the GE is more plug and play and the OEM might have to be slightly modified?

What I recomend is this: Since the OEM gasket had .003" fire ring and if you modify it to a 83mm bore then you take that fire ring out. So if you are getting your engine sleeved get the sleeves raised .003" to compensate for what was cut out of the gasket.

Just curious fred, why do you call me and ask me the same question then post the same exact same thing?

Not to mention we always get side tracked on the phone. Either you hear the ice cream man driving by my house or I tell you some irrelevant story that has nothing to do with anything, lol.
