getting rid of crank case breather filter idea...
My car smells like oil after long drives because oil is getting out of the crankcase breather (those mini k&N filters). Supposedly they're bad anyway, so i wanted to seal it up just like on a NA car.
I have an hks filter attached directly to the turbo, so i have no intake pipe. The prelude drag gen2's don't offer enough room to put a pipe in there.
I'm wondering if my idea will work.
I think the crankcase is about a 1/4" nipple. So if i drilled a 1/4" size hole into the back of the hks mushroom filter, and somehow managed to secure a 1/4" tee into that hole, could i then attach a rubber hose from there to the crankcase?
Would this work ok? or am i asking for trouble?
it is an $80 filter...
this is where i got the idea. http://webngames.com/zone/themot/intake.htm

Dont most people simply use like an oil catch can and the route it back through your EGR(?) system? think greddy makes a nice chrome can for ~60 bucks. I havent done this, just know a few people who have re-routed it. good luck.

Sounds like it would work. I kind of did the same thing. I drilled a hole in the pre-turbo piping and NPT tapped it. Then screwed in a fitting, which I attached a rubber hose to the valve cover.
Make sure to use a simple fuel filter inline with the hose so it gets some of the oil out and it wont oil up the turbo compressor blades.
