Default Getting Misfire after 5500 RPMS

Here is my set up,
92 si hatch (D16Z6)
MSD BTM, FMU, Intank Pump
IHI Rhb52 Turbo @ 8psi

Here is the problem, after I go past 6 psi say 6.5 around 5500 RPMS or there about it starts to sputter/misfire, I am burning full rich and EGT's are normal, my plugs are 2 ranges colder, no CEL's and timing retarded 0.5 deg per psi with my BTM. I don't apperar to have any vacum leaks that I know of. checked plugs and are normal tan color.

Any suggestions on what is causing this?

they are in the stock holder clip thing, so I would have to say no.

Drop the gap on the plugs from the stock .044 to .035 and see if that helps. The boost is blowing out the flame. this should eliminate the problem. Let us know if this works for ya.

Sounds like you're running out of spark. Those plugs may be too cold for your boost level, and/or you may need to add an ignition amplifier like an MSD 6a. I never really belived that they would do much, but I couldn't believe the difference it made on my turbo Civic. It really brought the top end alive, and eliminated a lot of mis-fires. Before you do anything, make sure the basics of your ignition system are working correctly (good wires, cap, rotor, etc)

Well, I am for sure it is spark and you guys/gals are pointing towards that too, I heard of regaping plugs to .35", so I will try that first and see how it works out thursday after work.
Do you think that I should run the stock plugs? I could always throw those in if regapping fails.
Also What are your EGT's for around 7 psi I was hardly breaking 1200F, it may have topped out at 1250 F max.

thanks for the help

Please do not run .35"

That's over a third of an inch. Inches are big.

I'd try .032"

Holy crap, I meant 35 thousands but I didn't type it.

Thanks for pointing that out.

So I should go with .032" to .035" then?

Hmmm sounds like you have a problem that I do. My car sounds like it's misfiring when I boost around 9psi....

well I think I may have figured it out, my a/f guage is so in accurate, after I gapped the plugs to .032" it ran a little better. I had a hunch that I was leaning after that so I tryed a friends A/F guage and once we hooked it up it was so evident, I was leaning out when I was at full throttle or close to it , My FMU is adjustable luckly and i adjusted it to the max it could go which is probly 7:1 or so (6:1 disc) and I am good till about 8 PSI and it starts to lean out again and sputter.

Thanks guys

That's what I thought since I have the same fuel setup as you. So thank you for confirming.
