Are gauges with peak hold/warning worth the extra cost?
Just like the topic says ... are gauges with peak hold/warning worth the extra cost? I'm trying to decide between the regular 60mm Greddy EGT/oil press gauges and the 60mm Greddy EGT/oil press warning gauges. There's like $100 difference between the two. For that much I can almost purchase another 60mm Greddy fuel pressure gauge.
Do the warning gauges emit a beep when you cross a certain value or do they only flash a light? What's everyone's opinion on this?

The only p/h gauge I have is my 60mm GReddy oil pressure gauge. It's a nice feature to have, but I guess I don't really NEED it, not for oil pressure anyway. If it were something like boost or EGT it'd be more useful, since you can see what peak values you're hitting by using the peak display instead of trying to watch the gauge(s) while driving. Also, the warning function on my gauge is just a little red light that comes on if my oil pressure goes below an adjustable point. I don't know if any of the other GReddy p/h gauges have audible warnings, but mine doesn't.

Did you do that?
EDIT: Forgot to add, I really enjoy and use the peak and hold features on my boost and EGT gauges... I find them very useful as its difficult to closely monitor them while flooring it

Re: (underpressure02)
I always thought that just wasn't worth the cost. But you guys do bring up good points. An audible buzzer would be nice rather than trying to "catch" it while driving.
