Default gasket between turbo and manifold??

I was wondering if it was necessary to have a gasket where the turbo and the manifold meet....recently i've been seeing some water/air seep through that connection and i'm thinking it might have something to do with the boost leak i've been experiencing.

You can choose whether or not to run a gasket in that location.

Water coming out? Something's very wrong... there should not be any water showing up in your exhaust at that temperature.

And I can't think of any way an exhaust leak at the manifold could be related to a perceived boost leak.
