GAS.. which grade to use w/ turbo..
just curious, is it okay to still run 87 octane on a turbo honda?? or would midgrade 89 be the minimal.. not that i can't afford 92, just curious and want to know the facts..

I'd run as high as you can, especially if you are running decently high boost!! I wouldn't run any lower than 92.

I have one thing to say. If you are concerned about the cost of gas. THEN DO NOT GO TURBO!!!

Out here in Aust we have 98 octane fuel.. from most pumps !!! my NA car loves it.. i can't wait to see how much my Turbo car will love it.. when i install / order eveything

That a RON rating right mate? its like 96 here and we still cant get it, plus your gas has a much higher anti knock index.
I lived in Chicago and you could get 113 at the gas city in Schaumburg like 3.50 a gallon

definitely get the highest you can get... .there's one gas station in town here that has 93 octane.... but then again the cotane rating is affected by me 6500feet elevation as well

so true! if you are worried about spending on gas you should have never gone FI.
its all about higher octane gas is better to avoid detination and you should do that at any cost.
anyway what 80 cents per tank?

You can use whatever grade you want, depending on how fast you want to go.

Yeah, I would never advise someone to use 87 octane gas or even 89 when boosting any amount. If you have to go with 91 it is ok, but you will want to be more cautious about pinging.
