Default garrett T4/t04 Hi-flow

My firend want to buy this turbo for his ls non-vtech engine the spec are:
t4/t04
.96A/R ext
.66 A/R int
3" intake inlet

will this turbo be fine for 500hp at the track using race gas and also using a direct port nos injections to spool the big turbo. i would like input if anyone has used this turbo.

he will be running 25lb of boost with 75shot of nos. the engine is built with all the goodies, i don't want to sit here and list all the parts, the most important is fuel he will have 850cc with hondata.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't that a HUGE A/R for the turbine? Will that turbo ever reach spool on a honda motor?

your are correct, yea it will reach spool around 5000- 5500 with out using nos. But its going to be for the drag strip so the top end will be crazy and he will be using nos to spool it up using a rpm switch from on2000 to off5000rpm.

you'll blow that turbo if you don't know what you're doing trying to spool on N20

that a/r housing is huge....... and not worth it at all with you application, you'd be better of with a large t-series turbo...... for example....... look at the map for a t66..... effiecency(prime) starts around 18psi it doesn't fall out of boost till almost 3bar....and i've seen it make 685whp on a b18......... just something to think about

yea i told him that pt67 or a t66 would be the way to go , but it is a lot of money that he doesn't want to spend. i know that he is getting this turbo very cheap so thats why i asked about it.
