Re: Garrett "blowzilla" t3/t04e? (T25So)
it's basically a t3/GT35 or GT40... it uses a 61mm 56 trim GT compressor wheel... just like an SC61. only difference from a base SC61 is that it comes standard with an S compressor housing and the turbine side is available with a stage 3 wheel.

T04E housing = 3" inlet with 2" outlet
T04S housing = 4" inlet with 2.5" outlet
S housing has larger a/r and may be a bit laggier, but good for a bit more hp.

How does a proper non ball bering gt35 blowzilla with .63 exhaust from garret compare in to the SC61 in terms of spool up and power because it is advertised on Cheapturbo for about $700 or $750
thanks

Re: Garrett "blowzilla" t3/t04e? (DUB20VT)
IT IS NOT A GT40 WHEEL!!
The sc61 spools about 800rpm faster (give or take) but the blowzilla will make more power.
If you looking for a great setup up to 600whp get yourslef a sc61 with a stage 5 wheel and your good to go. Great street turbo with a lot of power potential and good spool up.

Why is evryone sooo concerned with spool. Its a t3/t4 turbo. They spool close enuff to the same to not even worry about the diference. I would look more into flow and effiency rather than how quick it can spool.

thanks for the quick response. however on say a 2.0l motor...running compresion of 9.0:1 when do you think an SC61 will come in...at what RPM...????
thanks

Figure around 3500 to start making boost, and 4700-5000 to make 1 bar. Compression is mostly irrelevant.

So are saying even if the compression ration was like 7.5:1 it would start to build at the same rpm and hit ful boost at the same rpm as 9.0:1...????

well in that case no it would not spool the same , and i dont run a blowzilla but my buddy does and he loves it , spools good and pulls hard , he said he even likes it better than his t3/t67,

What are you using for chassys components? What size slicks?
I'm asking because I saw that 1.5 60' in your sig.
