Fully built 2.0 B18C high compression shortblock good with turbo? Already searched for it....
Hey there guys! I got a heck of a deal on a 2.0 GSR block that has a spun bearing. The guy can have the bearing replaced or I can get it like it is. He has 11.2:1 Arias pistons on Darton sleeves. My question is, do you guys think it's ok to run 10 PSI on that block? Or should I go ahead and swap out the pistons for a low compression setup to be safe. They did away with 93 octane in my area so all I got to work with now is 91.
I currently run a Greddy setup with the blue box on my EM1 with a semi-built B16A2. I already searched and most of the threads are about stock blocks so I thought you guys could shine some wisdom on this since it's a built block. Thanks in advance and any info would be great!

Plenty people have run turbos on stock ITRs, so that is not a issue.
However, a spun bearing is bad news. If you gotta fix a bearing then you may as well do a re-build. Also, I would get a new crank.

It really depends on which bearing was spun. If he spun a rod bearing, then you will need to replace the rod and crank. If it was a main bearing then the block is junk.

So should I even get it then? I have a spare B16A2 block that I can send out to get sleeved and everything so should I head that route? He said that the bearing that spun was at the #3 cylinder...

And the block was actually still running when he had it in his car. I guess the bearing was in the process of going bad. What should I do?

So if I'm reading this correctly, boost with high compression is fairly safe? I'm about to boost a GSR motor with CTR pistons.

Yeah, it's all in the tune. I'm gonna pass on that block. I'll just send out my b16a2 block and stroke it to a 1.7/8 and call it a day. Thanks for all the info guys.
