Fully built head + bottom end, stock injectors, stock exhaust manifold/exhaust, can i run stock ecu?
Hey i have my fully built motor now and i want to drop it into the car, before i put the turbo on it, one of the reasons is that my car is sitting in the garage with no engine, and i dont want to wait any longer and it will take me another couple of months to get all the turbo parts. The head and bottom end are fully built, the CR is only 0.3 lower then stock (8.8 to 8.5), im gonna run a delta 260 cam which is very simular to the oem one, and im gonna run stock injectors, and stock exhaust manifold and exhaust piping. My question is, do i still need to tune this brand new motor? or can i run it with my stock ecu?
Thanks a lot!

Re: (tony413)
if you say its "fully built" I'm guessing you but thousands of $$$$ into your project. If I were you I would have the motor broken in on a dyno from startup.
tow to dyno $50
Dyno Time + tuning is like $400
Not ruining your expsensive project and doing things right the first time $priceless

its not turboed yet plus its not that much different from stock he just has new parts which he needs to break like any rebuilt motor. and if he tuned now it would be N/A then he has to go pay another $400 for a turbo tune

I've been wondering the same thing...
I would talk to your tuner and see if he'll cut you a deal on an hour or so of street tuning, so you can break in the engine and finish the build, and come back to him to finish up tuning when the build is complete.
At least that's what I'm going to TRY to do lol
