from what i understand the T04E compressor housing is more efficent. Hopefully TurbochargedSER will chime in here..

Excellent kit...

Probubly the best you can buy I'm sure.

What are your plans for the car? This will help determine which one for you to use.

BTW, it's T3/TO4E

I would go with a 60 trim T3/TO4E IMO.

Prefereably a Precision turbo.

What psi would i need to go up to to make the T3/t04s the best bet?

we have some very interesting turbos coming out under our own name. They will have far superior center sections to the current crop of Garret GT turbos, are designed to last 1 million miles and the bushing center sections feel like garret ball bearing units. There wont be any garret components in our turbos.

precision is still a the best garret components based turbo, however

nothing at all magical, but we finished the first turbos, and are awaiting the final products. These will be a 700hp capable t3t4 that spools like a much smaller turbo.

Large turbos that spool quickly will choke your engine. Do NOT put one of these turbos on your engine. They may spool quick, but they rob power in the form of back pressure. Putting on a smaller turbine to get better spool times is suicide.

its not a small exhaust side, its larger than either the wheels on the precision and the turbonetics stage 5 wheel.

i know about wheelsize matching, thanks for the concern tho.

I was mostly referring to the T3/T4. But yah, if you can get better spool w/out choking th engine, , that should be a GREAT turbo

edit:

93LSivic, if you need someone to techically explain why a smaller turbo chokes your engine, then you are in no position to be flaming

I am a soon to be owner of the manifold, downpipe and intercooler. The kit is hands down the best on the market.

I think u need to be more clear on what ur saying. I think ur saying that matching too large of a compressor w/ too small of a turbine will cause surge. when the turbo is spooled up and the motor can't inhale the air(chokes) and causes a reversion of air back towards the turbo. this is what ur saying right? cause thats definitly bad the VW guys have a problem w/ this. When they first started running T3/T4's on the 20v motors that are set up for great low end they would spool up so quick that the compressor would surge.

this has been tried before. for example IIRC, the GT2540 is a ball bearing unit with a t25 turbine/housing with a T04S comp wheel.....huge mismatch! when i used to work at maxrev, a customer requested one for his DSM. we installed the kit expecting quick spool and good throttle response. that didnt happen, the turbo had a lot of lag and absolutely zero throttle response. what a waste of $!
