Full-Race t3/60-1 .70/.63 76 Trim turbo ..
I'm about to order the Full-Race t3/60-1 .70/.63 76 Trim turbo for my stock b16a2 ... i will run an inline pro style mani, uberdata, tial wastegate, upgraded injectors, custom intercooler, dsm (most likely BOV), etc ...
How will this turbo do? My goal is 300whp, how much will i have to push it to reach my goals, and how will this turbo do with my b16a2? Any and all comments, advice, CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is appreciated.
Thanks

I think that turbo is to big for a b16 and to big for only 300whp. I'd recommend a t3/t04e 57 trim or even 50 trim. http://store.yahoo.com/cheaptu....html

Re: Full-Race t3/60-1 .70/.63 76 Trim turbo .. (BG Boost)
i agree with onetwo three. the 60-1 will be a bit laggy. probly more than you would like. a nice t3/to4e 54 trim spools up very nicely and pushes enough air for 300hp. i had it on my b16 a lil while back, and it spooled very quickly up to 10psi. if you have any questions about pricing just pm me

$600 shipped.. Full-Race Holiday Sale
I'm aware it may be a little big, but i don't want anything TOO big .. i will plan on later building the block and upgrading, so this turbo might be a good idea for when i plan to upgrade.
BG Boost- I didn't feel like running the holset, lol, so i sold it.

So you're saying you won't get full boost until 6k? And between gears, his powerband will only be from 6-8200? Are you really that proud of your own setup, and no one elses? You need to get a life rather than trying to make everyone elses setups sound like ****.
It'll work perfectly fine Brian. There are people running SC61/SC63's on stock b16a's getting crazy good 1/4 times with no complaints. Screw the quick-spool ****'s.

That is true, people are running the sc61 on stock b16's. But for his goal of only 300whp why go so big? Keep it simple. He never said anything about upgrading. My friend has an sc61 it is an awesome turbo.

If you know what you're doing, you can stretch the b16a's legs to over 9500rpm, then look at your powerband - from around 5200-9500 - doesnt sound so bad now, does it.

WTF are you talking about? what does my setup have to do with anything? I try to help someone with an honest opinion based on the fact that my car is actually turbo'ed (not just a collection of parts i list in my sig ) There is just no point in running that turbo for 300whp when you can do it with a smaller turbo with a much greater powerband. i would actually favor an sc61 over the t3 60-1's, it will spool quicker and be much more efffiecent @ lower boost levels. t3 60-1's will be VERY laggy on a b16a, I don't see full boost (1bar) untill 5000rpms with a t3/to4e 60 trim .63ar, if i could do it over again and still had 300whp as my goal i would prolly go with a t3/to4e 50 trim .63ar....but i guess it wouldn't look as cool as some huge turbo when you go take pics of your car or list it in your sig.

Thanks for everyones help, but i decided to go with it. I'll build the block up later, and this turbo will work with my setup now, and later.

So seriously, hook it up

Get off this post already damn . I also went with the 60-1 for many reasons: price, the MaDBlInG'N TO4S intake housing, Later i will do a complete build and dont want to have to blow money again later on another turbo, did i mention we can take some phatty pics of our cars with a BlInG'n turbos ?
I personaly would deal with a tiny bit of lag than have to blow more $ later. Plus if lag is too much, which i doubt, we'll spray on it, lol.

I wish it were the case. Once you get full spool, there goes the traction right out the window, evan at a 45 roll, especially with that turbo.

Exactly. what people fail to realize is that when they have a large turbo with lag, yes you are not spinning the tires. But a larger misconception is that if you are going 45mph then you'll have traction. What ever you dont have down low, you'll have on top end. Then you'll really have traction problems.

Re: Full-Race t3/60-1 .70/.63 76 Trim turbo .. (Arturbo)
Lag helps traction - to a point. For example: Two of my friends cars. One is a boosted d16z6, t25, 9psi, in a crx - the car can't be making over 165whp because he is dead even with my piggy all engine Si. His car has big traction problems, basically 1st gear is worthless.
Next car would be a boosted b18c5 in an EK, 6psi, manual thunderbird turbo. This car had much better traction, grabbed hard in 1st, sometimes 2nd would have some issues but hooked up in a couple seconds anyway. This setup was probably making around 230whp.
So you decided. But i 100% agree with you Art, lag doesn't always mean traction....... Once 250+whp comes and boost hits with a large turbo, traction is a thing of the past.
