Fuel System for 250-260whp B18C
what kind of upgrades SHOULD i make for this amount of power? i only plan on making 270ish whp MAX EVER! (if i raise the psi a tad)
-RC 550cc injectors (i now have Greddy 310cc - do i need to buy the RC clips?)
-AEM High Flow Fuel Rail
-AEM Fuel Pressure Reg.
-Walbro 255 Pump
any other suggestions? i dont want to over do it, by buying things i wont even need or utilize, let me know guys.
<------- Fuel System Upgrade n00b
thanks for the help
btw - also how is the install on these parts? fairly simple?

Walboro 255 - Yes
RC 550's - no, the 440's will do, but 550's will give you more room for growth
AEM Fuel Rail - Not needed, but you can do it if you want
AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator - Yes

thanks for the reply...keep them coming!
would i have to get my car tuned as soon as these mods go in? i would not be able to drive without a re-tune? i am tuned now with 310cc injectors

if you're going to get 440's might as well go with 550's.. i'm right where you're trying to be.. stock fuel rail, adj. fpr, 550's, 255 high press. fuel pump.. and i have enough room to break into 300 mark

yea im not looking to break the 300whp mark - since that seems to be the limit for stock internals on a GSR engine and this is my DD so i want whatever i do to be real reliable

your ideas for fuel management are good.
RC550s are good. 440s are ok, but i've seen a few cars where they max the injectors. any obd1 injector clips will work. i prefer oem obd1 clips over the RC clips b/c they work better from my experience. Plus they might be cheap and they are OEM
AEM fuel rail is a little over kill, but bling factor wise. I got a Venom fuel rail b/c i needed it (b20b motor, so i needed a new intake manifold and fuel rail)
AEM FPR is good, 1 of the more reliable FPRs out there. I have one, works fine to me.
Walbro 255 intake is a must have too.
Also, a GOOD tuner is the key to making real power.
your numbers for 7psi seem kind of depressing to me, but then it might be b/c of the greddy kit. i have a drag kit, so i'm too knewledgable with greddy kits.

also my TINY exhaust is killing the numbers
the 18G isnt exactly a big turbo either - full boost at 3.5k good for around town i guess - but i want more!

yeah, i thought it was an 18g turbo. your exhaust isnt too much of a big factor. im running a greddy sp system and i lose a little bit of hp, but make up in tq.
250hp and 225tq on a b20b w/ drag kit. hondata is my fuel management

you dont need a fpr or rail. stock works fine. all you need are injectors, and a fuel pump (although, the stock pump would probably work, 255 is cheap insurance).

Re: Fuel System for 250-260whp B18C (ndogg)
will upgrading the injectors and fuel pump sacrifice reliability at all?
is a fuel pressure regulator not necessary?

the injectors and pump will not sacrifice reliability at all. The FPR is a must have when tuning because you need to set the pressure at X psi.

yeah, your fucked w/ that stock cat. lol...why not testpipe? you LOSE a lot of power w/ a stock cat.
upgrading injectors and fuel pump can only help, IF it is tuned properly. FPR is necessary.

yes, very simple. it almost like putting bolt-ons. if you need to figure how to wire injectors, search h-t and they have tons of thread w/ photos.

would i be able to drive on these parts (in vaccum) before getting re tuned, considering its tuned with 310cc injectors??

I purchased all of my fuel parts from Lightning Motorsports (h-t sponsor- lightning) and I got a killer deal. It was $99 for the Walbro 255hp pump and $279 for the 550's with free injector clips. The even included free shipping on everything .

good deal - ill keep that in mind
do these parts have some kind of "base map" to be able to run on a car tuned for 310cc injectors? also since it is tuned for that amount of fuel, why would bigger injectors cause the car not to run? the a/f would still be the same, just the capability of the injectors are not being used
semi-confused

Re: Fuel System for 250-260whp B18C (ek9vboi2)
i'm running 300 hp with a walbro and some 880s. i have a perfect idle, perfect af in vac and boost, i get over 30 mpg and run 11's. on a stock FPR... so please explain to me why it is neccesary to get an adjustable one again? or do you think my car is not "tuned properly".
oh, and like the other guy said "you need to get a FPR so you can run X psi" that is true, get a stock one and run "43psi" the tune your damn car... not that hard.

Probably not...do you have some sort of EMS? if you run those 550's on a stock ECU you'll flood the motor.

not neccessary, just makes things easier sometimes. its adjustable, and from that you get advantage. for example, i had 370's at first, so my fuel pressure was raised to 60psi, then i got 550's i lowered fuel pressure to 40psi, 10psi below stock. its not necessary, but not useless
