Default Fuel problem with Walbro 255

I'm having a problem with fuel delivery. I've got a Walbro 255, 450CC injectors, B&M FPR, VAFC.

It makes a loud whining noise that is VERY audible from outside the car. If I turn on the blinkers, or hit the brakes, or do anything else that causes an electrical draw the pitch of the noise changes. Also, with the blinkers on, the fuel pressure drops about 4PSI on every flash.

Another thing is that IMMEDIATELY (i mean like 1 second!) after I turn the car off (or the fuel pump is finished priming) the fuel pressure shoots to zero and the car wont start unless I prime it. Tonight while I was boostn the fuel pressure just went to zero and it wouldnt start for about 5 minutes and even then I had to give it 100% throttle, but after that it ran fine despite the loud whining noise.

Another thing is that on the VAFC at -35 acrossed, I was running at 15:1 A/F and to bring it back to around 12:1 it needed to be richened up to around -20 - -25 all the way acrossed the power band!

Somethings fucked up and its preventing me from having a good time with the car I have an AEM 1:1 universal FPR that I'm going to mount on the fuel rail so that may make a difference but I'd like to sort out this problem before I bother installing that and adding another piece to the puzzle.

Thanks guys, any input is appreciated

Default Re: Fuel problem with Walbro 255 (TeamCracka)

the noise is normal, you should check your fuel pump relay for the cutting out problems. and dont boost your running lean when you have no fuel pressure. my car does that sometimes in the summer, i have to turn the key off then on like 5 times before the fuel pump will prime. do a search for fuel pump relay and there is a way to hard wire it i think.
