Fuel pressure question.Yes did search.
Sup guys, my question is my idle pressure is at 52 psi, this is due to my install of a walbro intank 255 lph. I know more than likley it rose due to my stock fpr I still have on there. I know it's not healthy to have idle at 52 psi but could it hurt me to have that much just say 1 week or so? as long as I don't really go running around like I just stold the car? Thanks.. btw My setup is greddy kit w/310cc injectors, blue **** box, walbro in-tank with 2.5" dp straight pipe out to a custom 3". Thanks and sorry for the post but really couldn't find the exact answer I needed. TIA

Ok, I had this problem too. Except I had the B&M and my idle pressure was 44psi. What I did was drill a relief hole in the fpr.

It worked, except I'm not sure how happy I am with it. What happens is there is a constant leak because of it (of course it leaks back into the tank). The problem with this is your fuel rail doesn't stay at pressure when the pumps off, so A) its a bitch to start the car and B) your leaking fuel so the net effect is your not pumping out 255, but less. My advice is get a new, full (not B&M) fpr. I need to too one of these days.

my answers not good enough for you???
at 52psi it wont hurt anything......it'll just run like crap and maybe through a code 45

Naw dude don't take it the wrong way, I am just simply hoping at that high of pressure is cool to drive around with that pressure at least for a week (basically drive like a bitch) until I can purchase an fpr to drop the pressure. Not looking into drilling holes or doing temporary fixes unless it's really that necessary. Even with the money I make this ****** hobby kills your pockets. Thanks again man,

You should be fine.....but def. fix that. It'll run like crap. No real reason to baby it though.
Just pick up a AEM or paxton or whatever when you can.

00Silver LS.............I am curious, why was 42lbs of fuel pressure bad for you? What disc do you have in your FMU? I have an 8:1 with 310cc's, a B&M and my idle fuel pressure is 42 and I have no problems at 7lbs boost. Thanks!

It was like 44-46 pounds and it was idling like crap.
I dont have a fmu....I run a MF2
Because of your 310s, you took fuel out of idle with a vafc, right? Because of that you compensated for the higher idle pressures.

Re: Fuel pressure question.Yes did search. (00SilverLS)
i had the same problem, 52psi at idle. you can compensate for this with a vafc or other map device, but when i put in bigger injectors it was too much. i drilled the hole in several steps (started at about 1/32" and ended up a bit more than 1/16") and dropped the idle FP from 52 to 35. making the hole bigger doesn't seem to have much effect anymore, so my fmu (cartech 2025) may now be more restrictive than the stock fpr with b&m kit.
i haven't had any problems at all starting or anything. it's not a "leak" because the fuel is not going anywhere but back to the tank... and the pressure doesn't go to zero if you pressurize the sytsem and let it sit. it just stabilizes lower than it would without the hole.

I ran around town for about a month with my cartech hooked up backwards. I finally put on a fuel pressure gauge and found out I was running about 60psi at idle. I just threw code 41 all day long and leaned out alot. You should be good. Just be sure to fix it.

so if i'm running a walbro 255, b & M, stock injectors, and a 10:1 fmu i'll need to drill a hole if i wanna run 8 psi...???? look at sig..for setup...

Re: Fuel pressure question.Yes did search. (FBP Ex-T)
drilling a hole is not a good setup....its just a good temp fix to lower the pressures. the best solution is to get a fuel pressure gauge to see your idle pressure. if its too high and it can't be lowered, then you need a new fpr.
