Default fuel press. regulator hole drilled in it. WTF

few days ago I rewire my walbro, this thing works beautiful now.

Then the day after see a leak from the regulator to rail seal. Bought a new OEM o ring and when I went to install it, I note a drilled hole inside my fuel regulator.

Looking at old threads I read this was a remedy to get your pressure low at idle, but can lean your engine at WOT.

It's all right leave it this way or close it with JB weld or Marintex.

It's a modifier B&M.

And the hole is like a paper clip diameter. It looks big at the begin but the end is small.

faux larger return orifice. Since its not adjustable on oem regulators, on some instances you might be able to load the rail pressure after high pressure situation. If you had a regulator with a adjustable return orifice, not big deal. If you stick to stock, some people drill it there to make a faux larger return orifice. Even though it isn't larger.

Just means you need a bigger fuel pump!

h2.4, You mean I can leave it that way? Because if I adjust the pressure to my desire level it will be fine with the hole there.

Muckman, This walbro 255 is two months old or you mean I need a new bigger fuel pump (like a walbro 400lph).

That's because the OEM regulator gets "overwhelmed" by larger pumps at idle.

You want that hole

NA is right... Some larger pumps can build excessive backpresure in the stock return line. Personally, ive never had problems with a 255 on a completely stock fuel system. You might have a pinched/rusted/restricted return line.

but it's safe to use it drilled?

I plug the hole with jb weld and the pressure don't drop from 61 psi.

Before I rewire the pump all work flawless.

I have a spare d16z6 regulator can I install the B&M on it and use it in my b16 fuel rail?
