Re: Fuel Management for Jackson Supercharger.. (Ringbearer020)
I have a couple question to be about jackson superchargers too..
For fuel management, i've hear but not sure, that the stock injectors are ok for standard boost, but upgrading is highly recomended. What fuel rail would be good to upgrade to? And for a fuel pump, what would be a good replacement? Would a walbro 255 HP pump for the N/A Supra work? I know that pump will provide more then enough fuel for 6 psi boost? Another question is about knocking, how far should the timing be retarded to prevent knocking? Do they make thicker head gaskets to lower compression for higher boosting? Does the apexi SAFC piggy-back be suffcient to remap the fuel system? Basically what is real needed to safely install a jackson SC.
Thanks alot..

you guys may want to look into uberdata for your fueling/timing needs. with uberdata, all you need is an OBD1 computer and (for your setups) 450cc injectors. do your research and see what you think. the website in my signature may be of help....

Im running the same setup now. I am using the stock 6 lb pulley with stock injectors and fuel pump and havent had a problem yet. I followed the JR specs on timing. ( I can look them up for you if you dont have em) Dont be cheap, make sure you run 92 octane to prevent knocking. I tried to skimp and run midgrade and noticed just a little knocking on certain occassions at high RPM. since switching to "high test" no probs ( plus im getting better gas mileage... 30 city and 33 highway)
As far as a head gasket and safe boost, I am trying to get feedback on that right now. Keep me posted and updated on your findings. We are in the same boat and Im curious if your findings are accurate with mine.

i've been running 10psi on my stock B16A motor all summer - i'll let you know if she blows i'm confident though that it's a reliable setup

2. Next question has to deal with number 103.. Do I really need to turn the oil cooler from the 12 O'clock postion to the 9 O'Clock position? This seems to be hard to accomplish... but yeah is there an easy way to do this? ..
I have more questions but right now I can't think of them.. any help would be very cool.. thx all

yes you need to rotate it, otherwise there will be clearance issues. with the right sized socket, it shouldn't be too difficult to accomplish.
