Default Fuel line from intank pump to fuel filter...

How much effort must one expend to run say stainless fuel line from an intank pump to the fuel filter?

For some reason, all my efforts to use high quality, large ID stainless fuel line in the engine bay seem wasted when I look at that toothpick size solid fuel line running to the bottom of the fuel filter...

I am not planning this anytime soon, but I have always wondered how hard it would be......

it sounds pretty easy...just run the line along with the stock lines to the bay and secure it with zip ties or tiny hose clamps. That should definitely improve flow capability over the stock lines but I don't think its really necessary unless you are making tons of power.

once you have the interior out of the way around the pump its not too bad, the hard part is coming up with a AN fitting solution for your intank pump, you can thenwedge the line under the car and run the same route as the stock furl line, dont suggest taking the stocker out just disconnect it. you can then run the line anywhere you wish. also take care when affixing the new line to the car use insulated rubber type of clamp

Guess you missed my post the other day dustin. Look here. Very good info on the subject! Right down to a parts list.....

*EDIT* Now thinking about it. Go on ebay, you can find those stainless lines for way less than what any of the companies like anplumbing.com will charge. I got my ss oil dump tube setup off of ebay for a total of about $15, all brand new parts.

You all are luck because your lines are outside the car. My friend has his done in -8 line, I think, coming and going. Very nice work. The one fitting I can see at the pump is a 120 degree, pretty drastic bend. There is plenty of room behind the intake mani to work with your lengths. My friend's car was down for awhile too...

I may just go for it then. Anyone know which fitting fits the bottom of the stock fuel filter?

Dustin,
I think Brian TurboInteg95 did this exact same thing. You might want to contact him about it.
And, have you thought about using 3/8 aluminum pipe?

if you use -8 for feed, -6 is sufficient for return. Stock on civics and integras is -6 feed, -4 return I believe.

Hmm -6 is 11/32 I.D. The stock hard metal feed line at the bottom of the fuel filter is wayyy smaller than that. Is not flow limited by the smallest diameter in the entire line?

John... do you think -6 feed is too small ? I was thinking of just using -6AN for the entire fuel system... Vortech fuel rail, aeromotive FPR, using stock fuel filter in stock location...
