Fuel is cutting off at 6000 rpms!?!
ok, I have a d16z6, t25, s-afc with 450 injectors. It has been running fine, I already had it tuned on a wideband 02, it just started acting up a few days ago. Here is the scenerio, I start the car when it's cold, runs great, drive it until it's up to temp, then floor it in first gear, and pulls nice and strong all the way up to 7200rpms (red line), after the car has warmed up for a while, I floor it in 1st gear I get up to 6000 rpms or really close to that and it just cuts out, not miss fire, like a fuel restrictor turns on and it cuts out until I put it in 2nd gear, and it pulls hard again all the way up to 6000 and then it does it again?!!?! it's very odd that it always does it at or very close to the same rpms. I reset the ecu, but it did nothing, and also took out my catalac converter, just straight piped it, but again...nothing.. Any ideas?

Does it feel like it is hitting the rev limiter?
I had a similar problem and it was because my knock sensor pulled timing because I was almost detonating. Love that little invention.
BTW, how do you like the S-AFC? I am trying to decide whether to use it or the eManage.

I am going to say something along these lines is happening:
1) It is summertime. It is bloody hot outside so your intercooler isn't working as well and your intake air temperatures (IATs) are above normal.
2) You got a batch of bad gas (Arco?), accidentally used low-octane fuel, or really need to go with 92 octane. Remember that in the summer, fuel is reformulated with ethanol added to reduce vehicle emmissions.
3) You possible are getting blowby oil in the cylinders which is making you more prone to detonate.
Any of the above things could be happening seperately or together, and are making your engine more detonation-prone. You should be glad you have a knock sensor.
So I would suggest:
-Use 92 octane or add octane booster.
-Ensure you are using a catch can or oil seperator in your PCV system
-Don't open the car up when it is 90° outside.
Alternatively, you could try installing a intercooler water sprayer, water injection, you could run a lower temperaure thermostat, you could enrichen the fuel mixture, or other means to keep the engine happy when it is just too damned hot.

Re: Fuel is cutting off at 6000 rpms!?! (beepy)
ok, I know 100% that i'm using 92 octane, so that's good, the weather up here in Michigan has been in the 70's, so knock that off, but what is -Ensure you are using a catch can or oil seperator in your PCV system...? not sure what that means. As for what I think of the AFC, i think it works great. My gas mileage is a litle crappy, 22 in town, not sure what it is on the highway. My plan is to switch to überdata this winter when i store my civic, so i won't have down time.

Hmm. So it's cool outside, and you are running good fuel?
I am out of ideas unless you really are getting oil in the cylinders.
How do you have the PCV system set up, and have you pulled the spark plugs to look at them?

Where's VTEC set at? I had a problem with oil delivery to the solenoid and everytime I got high enough to hit VTEC it was just like I hit a rev limiter. If the Turbo is bleeding oil from the system to lubricate itself it may be robbing it from the head. Do you have any external oil lines feeding the head?
