Default Found out how to up boost without a controller...If you have this prob. look!!

i just got my car turbod and i have no boost controller....i wanted to run 7 or 8 psi...on my t3 and it was only running 3psi....thats where it was gated at ....and i wanted to up it....so the vacumm line that runs to the wastegate ...i cut it in half..and i inserted a t fitting and put the two ends i cut back on the t fitting and left the remaining slot opened....Done....then i test drove it and at full throttle i run 8psi steady.....just some ideas for anyone that has this problems.....any advice or expierence let me know

your wastegate was set at 3psi? it was probably broken

That's basically what a turbo xs MBC does... it bleeds the pressure from the compressor port so it takes more boost to open the wastegate up.

It's nice that it worked out for you, you could have opened it up too much and overboosted.

A lot of people just poke holes in their wastegate signal line until they achieve the desired boost, works the same way.

Thats what we did on the dyno to get my car to run more boost. Its ghetto *** ****. But it was just temporary.

this is nothing new.... it creates a boost leak so the turbo has to spin faster and heat up the air more.

we just used a hydraulic needle valve on the buicks. i was running 26-30 psi with a bleed valve on my turbo-t no problems. i am actually making them for other turbo kits for like 30-35 bucks.
