Default FMU vs. SMC+ and 450cc injectors, on LS motor

I have a b18b motor, im gathering up all the turbo parts for it now. I plan to run 7-9 psi on it. I will be using either a t3/60-1 turbo, or a 57 trim t3/t04e. I have the dsm injectors already, but after seeing some impressive results with using a fmu, i may sell them and buy a vortech fmu. The motor will be stock internally (for now) and I prefer reliablility over maximum power. Any suggestions? Also, which turbo would you guys choose, between the two listed above? Thanks!

I've never used the smc/dsm injector route but from what i hear it's a decent set-up.I'm using a fmu and it works fine no tunability though.
I'm using a t3t40e (.57/.63) and i love it....i recomend that one....but once again i've never used a t3 60-1 either

Cool, im kinda leaning towards the FMU route now. It worked perfectly on my old motor/turbo setup. Anyone else?

I'm in the same boat as you, but I'm just running an FMU and Inline Fuel Pump for now, with the intent of upgrading to a standalone later

What's the maximum amount of boost you recommend using the turbo you have?

depends on a lot of things. Engine is it built or stock, tuning with stand alone or using fmu or smc? stuff like that..but generally 10psi or less for a stock engine. But i believe that the turbo i'm using is efficient up to about 18psi before adding to much heat...

Everyone I know who switched from an FMU to the SMC loved it. But if you're just looking for reliability then the FMU should keep it more simple.

you can actually use a AFC to tune out the richness at higher rpms with the fmu setup... but i would rather save the money for hondata... so its totally up to you on how you want to tune things out.

I don't want to sound like a fool, but what's the 'SMC'?

Search for "SMC" and you will find a few helpful posts.

$20 worth of electronics sold for $125.

Check this, as it is "the same" situation as it has to do with boost via manipulation of the MAP sensor signal. AFC and MAP (and SMC) boost hacked vehicles run too much ignition advance in the boost range. Here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=373528

Anyone has pics of the SMC unit? It's not the SMC unit sold by Autotronic right?
