Flywheel/clutch for my boosted GS-R
what flywheel do you guys recommend? Im looking for one that is around 9-12lbs. Preferrably chromoly. Let me know what you guys think and what your experiences are. Thanks.
BTW, I have a Drag 3 Turbo GS-R and I am planning to get the ACT Xtreme/street strip. Feel free to give me suggestions on clutch/flywheel combo for my application.
Thanks.

Re: Flywheel/clutch for my boosted GS-R (aZn TaK)
I am weary of the ACTs because I have seen one blow up and I have heard stories from the others. Clutchmasters or ClutchNet is the way to go. Which stage depends on your ultimate goal. Try not to go too light on the flywheel when running FI. There is a debate about lightened flywheels for FI aps in the archives, not sure if you will be able to find it or not though. Maybe someone will post it??

get the heavy duty pressure plate with the 6 puck non sprung hub. holds real well and only chatters slightly.

Re: Flywheel/clutch for my boosted GS-R (SiRkid)
What do you guys think of the ACT Xtreme pressure plate with the street strip disc? I am planning to get this set up with a lightened flywheel. I have read up on Exedy chromoly flywheels. They are made of chromoly and weigh about 10lbs. what is you opinion on this flywheel. Also please make me some suggestions on clutches and flywheel (preferably chromoly and around 9-12lbs) Thanks...

I love my ACT with Extreme PP and Street organic disk! Feels like stock but holds all my power. And I am dynoing over 400hp now easily.
I highly recommend it. All my freinds run this combo now.

On my 2000 Si, I have the same clutch setup (ACT XTSS) and I'm also running a Comptech chromoly flyhweel. I think it weighs like 9.5-10lbs. I'm not boosted yet, but I'm very happy with the combo.

i'm running the ACT heavy duty pp w/ street disc ... as far as flywheel, i was just going to keep the stock gsr one but i'd also like to get an opinion on whether or not i should get a lighter flywheel.

I use the act clutch mentioned as well and a fidanza flywheel it weighs like 10 lbs and has a carbon disk on the outside that can be replaced instead of replacing the entire flywheel, expensive but worth it.

Re: Flywheel/clutch for my boosted GS-R (qtiger)
I just bought an ITR flywheel. It is 16 pounds, and anythign between 10-16 is best for boost. Or so I have been told. I mean it makes sense, too light will scoot you through your powerband and make a car that will rev fast as hell anyway rev even FASTER. I think that really lightweight flywheels are great for all motor but not nessecarily as light of one for turbo.
