Flexible tubing for wastegate dump...
Has anyone used this flexible tubing for the wastegate dump?

I want to use it for my dump tube, but was wondering the downside to it? The only thing I could find by searching was that it is loud because the flex tubing is fairly thin. Any thing else?

Thats nice to know you are using it, but do you have anything better to add? I'm looking for the pro's and cons of it.

besides it being harder to weld the flange onto that type of flext tube, it will work fine.
it's easy to work with and cost effective.
platinum.

Im looking into using some of that stuff. 2 of my dumptubes have cracked so far and Im sick of it! One was Mig welded with fairly thin material. The other is a lil bit thicker material and its SS and tig welded....

I was going to use a 1" long piece of 1.5" OD tubing and clamp the flex tubing to it with a clamp:

Thats what I use and it works just fine, I painted mine black and it dosen't look as cheap, even though it is just held on with a band clamp.

I have used it alot, I love it. You are correct with using it with the T bolt clamps to conect it for extension off the dumptube. Its not worth it to try and weld it to the flange itself.

If you guys do use this as an external dump be aware that it can move if you dont secure the open end. On the street this could mean inadvertently burning oil returns or wires. I was tuning a talon a couple months ago and the flexible dump was well away from the front strap when I started. I did about 15 runs and then right near redline and 400whp the tube moved and melted a strap. The car went flying to the left as I mashed the brakes and clutch. It only went about 18" to the side and left 4 big burn outs on our dyno. Luckly no one was hurt but it could have easily been avoided if the fabricator had built a more reliable dump tube.
