Default flange=spacer?? for turbo

ok I've got a hytech turbo manifold with a sc61 turbo. Everything bolts up fine. When I go to put the scatter shield on the turbo is in the way. Can I put a exhaust flange in between the head and manifold? Will that hurt anything? Will it put more lag on the engine?

I dont see any reason why it would impact performance at all. If it makes it fit, give it a shot.

Thanks. Thought it would take a little long to get to the turbo, thus creating throttle response.

the only thing I would worry about is the bracket for the turbo, the one that connects to the tranny.

The Hytech mani is not designed to support the turbo.
