Default First turbo build. Slow and steady. 500whp goal. *Pics*

Hello all. I'm about to get started with my first full motor build and my first turbo set-up. Currently I am running an ls/vtec and it's on its way out. I'm sick of N/A power, and now I'm ready for some REAL power lol. I would like any suggestions for my set-up as you guys are guru's and i'm new.

First off my goal is 500whp(Probably more), and I would like to go ls-t, non vtec. I understand this build is going to take a lot, however i'm prepared to take my time on this build, hence the title.

B18b1 sleeved and decked by golden eagle STD bore
Manley Turbo Tuff / Wiseco 9.5:1
ACL's
gt3582r
tial 44mm wastegate
tial BOV
Sre piping
Precision intercooler
blox manifold
bosch 1000cc injectors
Pnp head
crower valvetrain
And of course a good tune.

What do you guys think? I don't know if my HP goal is out of reach, but I would like to make enough power to warrant the sleeves lol. This is not my DD, it's my toy. Any input appreciated, don't be too harsh on me.

I will post pics as often as I get parts, but I can only afford so much at once, so this may take a while, bear with me. I am going to need your help.

Anyway, here's the block. Should be on it's way to golden eagle shortly, this will be the first step.

On the right path I would get hondata or some other option ectune or neptune are both viabale options. Personally I would just get whatever your tuner likes the most because he is going to be the one doing the work. I am sure you know a good tune will make or break you so just do some good research on that part. Other than that I dont see your goals being unrealistic..

sounds like it should be a sound build. Just make sure you take you time and measure everything.

a 38mm WG with a gt35r is goin to boost creep allllotttttttttt. Pick up a Tial 44mm. Also, if your goal is only 500whp, pick up the 3076r. You will love the quick spool and powerband on the steeet!

Tial Q BOV...> Greddy BOV.

Thanks for the input guys. I was thinking the 38mm would be too small. I'll look into a larger one.

Update.
Well I found a head to use, with intake manifold and TB. I'll post pics up a little later. I also may have found my manifold, and wastegate. The block will be sent out for sleeving late next week if all goes to plan. The head won't be sent anywhere until I have new valve springs, valves, retainers, which should be ordered next week as well.

I was going to use the crower stage 2 FI cams, any input on these? I've only heard good stuff.

If you want to do e85 there is a big thread about it on here, I would say go for it especilly if it is close to you and if there are stations around where you normally are. I am doing a pump and e85 tune so I wont have to confined to one or the other. If you do decide to do e85 just remember about the fuel requirements as it needs about 30% more fuel to get the same power as pump..

Forgot to mention those. I wouldn't attempt any build without them.

I was thinking this as well, so I wouldn't be stuck with e85.

Got a question. I took the cams out of the head last night. 2 things:

1: There is light, but obvious, wear, on the part the cams sits in. I know that you can raplace crank bearings, but what do I do about this..Line Hone? Or is this something I don't need to worry about?

2: While taking the cam caps off, two of the metal dowel things that go between the cap and head are stuck. The rest of the caps came off no problem, how should I pull this out?

Picture of both stuck dowel, and the wearing I was worried about.

The dowel in the head is nothing to worry about, just keep it in there. As for the wear, most likely it wont be a big deal. You cant line hone the cam journals. You can measure the cam and the journals to see if they are in spec if you are really unsure.
