First time running my boosted Z6 at the 1/4. Broke into the 14s.
If this is not appropraite for this forum I apologize. Please lock/delete/move it.
I ran my D16Z6 full interior and then some turbo coupe this weekend. Running a TD04 14G @ 10-12psi.
-Bone stock D16Z6
-TD04 14G turbo (off of 3000GT, probably about the size of a T25)
-310cc injectors
-uberdata (semi-tuned. Switching to crome this weekend.)
-$35/piece econo tires
My first run was a 15.88#. I lost my timeslip. I tried to launch from 2500rpm and just spun all the way through first.
2nd run:
3rd & 4th runs:
I improved my 60ft from a 2.8 to what I think is a decent 2.5.
I probably could have made it further into the race day, but my girlfriend was about to get home from her friends for the weekend, her parents were still out of town, and I wanted to see if I could hit 14s before I get some serious tuning done.
The plan for this season is to work on my tuning/driving with a low-HP setup while I work on building my spare D16Z6 (still considering swapping. I've been looking into port/polish for a D series head and it's looking to be cheaper to swap to a B series.)
But by the end of this season/start of next season I'll be looking into having a fully built D16Z6 that's going to be putting down 300-400whp. I want to go with a T3/T04E 50 trim that'll push me to 300 easily with little lag, or upping to a 57 trim which would be better for my 400whp goal. I'd love to get a Garrett GT series, but they're out of my budget for now. I'm also going to start looking into Precision turbos and see which of their turbos will push me to my new goals.

Lol. She was gone all weekend and I don't get to see her throughout the week.

Yeah, one of the sponors has Lenzos w/ MTs for $490. Just a matter of getting the cash saved up first. I've also been considering getting BFG Drag Radials, which would only be around $200, but I just want the slicks.
Hopefully with some good tuning and more practice I'll be able to keep dropping my times. I was shifting at 6k because the car just seems to fall on it's face after 6k. The first time I went down the track I was like "Holy ****! I'm going really fast and it's completely legal."
Future goals are to get the car to the 200whp mark (no dynos yet) and trap 100+mph.
I also want to improve my time by 2 seconds, so end of this season/start of next season I want to be running 12.7s.
My friend Doug was there with his 98ish GT. 1st run down the track he pulled a 90* off the starting line, almost hit the starter, straightened out and ran a 13.5.
Sucks because he broke his crank pulley on his 3rd run.

Get the Lenso's with slicks. Launch at 6-7k and you'll be in the 13's no problem.
