Finally Turbod the D14..(kinda)..NEED HELP (car dont cranck/start) pics and vid
hello everybody.....
first off, this is the setup:
97 civic 1.4is (D14A4).
Tunertoys log manifold. (blocked WG flange)
garrett T3 .48/.67 internal wastegate.
SMIC.
2" chargepipes from the turbo to the intercooler.
2.5" chargepipes from intercooler to the TB.
hks super BOV.
Fasturbo oil lines.
NO DOWNPIPE YEY
GREEDY BLUEBOX.
ok here it goes...
i didnt start the car for about 3 weeks because i installed the turbo.
i tryed to start it today using booster cables from my dads cavalier,
i turned the key to "on" and everything was fine and the bluebox led blinked,
but when i tryed to cranck it nothing happend, just some starter motor clicking. (i think )
take a look in this vid and tell me what you think:

I bet you knocked the spade terminal off the starter solinoid. Check that first.
Or it could be low battery voltage, test it and see. Sometime the jumper cables wont make a good connection so that could still be it.
Also check the ground connection on the thermostat housing. It a ring terminal with a 10mm head bolt holdingit in. Clean it with sand paper and reinstall.

I agree with him.

on the starter there are 2 wires. one large one from the battery and one with a slide on connector. I think that slide on one might be loose.

that video was scary, now i cant sleep at nights.
like the guys said you might have slid off the little starter cable by mistake, happend to me before, check all your grounds, its def power related nothing to do with the engine/tranny.

Mine has done this before....the power wire on my starter was too tight, it ended up turning more than just the nut. I turned it back a little, and it started right up.
don't know if that may be your problem, but it was mine.....GL

Look under the distributor on the top of your transmission, whats hes saying is the power wires to the transmisson has fallen off.

When you took the car apart (before the turbo install), did you disconnect the battery terminals? Or did you work on the car "live" with power on..if so, you may have shorted something out. Check fuses.
You need the following to run the car (timing and compression are assumed)
1.)Spark
2.)Fuel
3.)Air

yes i did dissconected the negativ terminal.

1- spark: i removed 1 plug and my man tryed to start the car and there was no spark while touching the manifold/block.
2- fuel: i can smell some fuel and i hear the fuel pump priming.
3- air: FI my man

Re: (RACEPAK)
If there's no spark make sure the distributor is getting power (check the thick wire for +12V) and ground (check continuity from the distributor to the negative terminal on the battery). If those two check out, and I have little doubt they will, start taking stuff apart and replacing it piece by piece. Usually you can find a friend or someone that has a similar car to swap parts with temporarily... steal a distributor, steal their spark plug wires, etc.
Is it catching at all or just cranking? Are there any check engine lights?

Re: (RACEPAK)
no spark:
either the distributor is not working (ignitor is dead/not receiving power/not plugged in)
ecu is not sending a signal (bluebox is wired incorrectly/ecu is faulty/ecu isn't plugged in/wire is missing).

uh, if your motor isnt turning over, your dizzys not going to be sending any spark. Did the motor start turning over then? Its either one of a few things, either the ground to the motor isnt connected (normally sits on top of the valve cover I think), you have a bad grounding point on the chassis, or your battery is just that dead. Switch the battery out for a known working (will start other cars) one.
