Default finally get her back up and running. first race on video with 500hp supra

after blowing the motor on the dyno(melted piston and cracked head) 2 weeks ago, i finally got her rebuilt and running decent. first race was setup with a buddy of mine in gainesville. we ran twice, once from 2nd where had had some bad traction issues and he jumped 3 cars on me. and once from 3rd where i can either spin or grip depending on the road(i hooked on this one)...both of us has passengers.

What kinda horsepower did you end up with? Still waiting for the videos to download.

In all reality, you may as well have just made them into audio files.

i dont know how much power it has now. its probably around 380whp/295wtq at 18psi. it needs a bigger turbo to flow more hp up top. i pulled a shitload of timing out to be safe and added a little more fuel. its running right around 11.0:1 a/f ratio and 13.6 degrees of timing at 18psi.

that supra ran a 12.6@120mph before he put the sticky 295's in the back

Isn't it bad to pull too much timing? Especially with a bigger bore. Just wondering

too little timing can create higher egts but its better than having too much timing and detonating. my motor blew from god aweful detonation at 17 degrees and 20psi on pump gas. i dont wanna take anymore chances

yes i know from the extra heat, but like i said 13.6 is safer than 17...generally speaking. obviously every motor is different.

Mase...i calibrated everything on the aem this time and triple checked everything, especially timing, for accuracy. itll be back on the dyno within the next couple days to double check the a/f. everything should be the same tho. im still trying to get those calibrations over to you but its kinda hard without a laptop

Mase do you really think he is running enough retard to cause detonation? Its only a few degrees back from the 9:1, 18psi, pump gas motors I have seen.

nah, as long as his timing is sync'd w/ the aem.... ive seen some cars way off, some retarded, some advanced.....

he should be just fine w/ that total timing

btw, you should have told me you were in gainesville, u could have stopped by and said whats up
