A few ?'s about MAP sensors

Ok a friend of mine just bought a 92 civic LX with a Greddy turbo setup. Well his ECU was thowing a couple of codes.10 and 3. Well We know what they were and tried to fix it. Well the motor in the car is a D16Y8 so we had to add the IAT sensor. And the people before had a a vaccum hose running off the MAP sensor to a 5 oulet one way T thing.(not sure of name). And had it plugged into the TB. Well the one going into the TB was barely in there so we thought that was what it was so we just mounted the MAP to the TB. Well we started the car after clearing the codes and it was clear no codes https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif ...But after driving it when the car hit boost it threw the MAP again.

I have heard of a "missing link" "gm bar 3 sensor" ETC.ETC. He is running around 7 psi and I was wondering what has to be done to make this work without CEL's. I am new to the FI thing so I really dont understand what exactly needs to be done. please let me know something ASAP..For example how you did your MAP sensor.

Ok I have read a little about the fitting thing he has. I am guessing this is a "check vavle"?? If so why is this not working? Anyone know how to mount it to work? Please let me know soon. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

if he is running a stock p28 Ecu, everytime his car hits boost it will throw a code. The stock honda Ecu is not meant to read boost. You have to "trick" the map sensor into reading boost by adding "check" valves. Check valves are the little things used for air in a fishtank. Just go to your local aquarium store or whatever and get like....6 check valves; of course you need vacuum T's too, (lol yea i kno it is a lot, but thats how many i had to put to get rid of the engine codes when i ran 10psi in my d16y8) and plug them in from the map sensor to the intake manifold.

I wouldn't buy a missing link. i would instead save money and buy a management system EG: hondata, so that your ecu will be able to read boost WITHOUT the missing link and check valves. Thats if i was in your position.

hope this helps...good luck!
