A few questions about Turbo Specs
Guys i'm so confused seeing all these different size turbos...
Is there a link or site that i can find what the different turbine wheels, turbine/compressor trims, and A/R's.
I guess i'm confused about all the different options a stinking compressor/turbine has. I dont even know if a T3/T043 is bigger or smaller than a t3/60-1?
I'd just like to get some more info about what all the numbers mean because i'm curious as to which turbo i should buy for my D16z6. Shooting for around 250-275 horsepower...
Quick spool up would be nice, but maybe its not such a good thing. I've been reading that its going to be hard to hook up the tires if you hit full boost by lower rpms (3000-4000) But if i got a turbo that didnt spool til around 5000+ rpms, then i wouldnt have much area for it to spool because of the 7200 redline, right?
Ah so many questions,,, It seems the more i research, the more questions i get
Thanks

Try this
http://www.turboneticsinc.com/catalog/index.html
Also check out the FAQ section, if trying to spec out a turbo call Turbonetics, Innovative Turbo, Precision Turbo, Majestic. All are helpful and can explain or point you in the right direction.

Re: A few questions about Turbo Specs (Boostfed)
Thanks for the link, but damn there's so much info...
How the hell are you supposed to read those compressor maps?
Anyone else have any ideas/links?
Just trying to learn more...

Re: A few questions about Turbo Specs (Pelican)
Come on you guys, isn't there any sites that go into detail about all the SPECIFICS like i mentioned before?
There's gotta be..
consider me a cheap ***, i'd rather read off the net rather than buy a book

Check out this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=233598
Its explains compressor maps, at the bottom of the page their is a compressor calculator. 1.6l is a 98ci, 1.8 is a 112 ci, 2.0 is a 122 ci. Go to turbonetics website and use the calculations and graph on the compressor map. The compressor maps arent the end at of turbo selection. Compression, headflow and other factors such as your engines volumetric efficiency, etc.
This should give you a good start. Read up on net resources, you can learn alot.
