few issues with plx sm-afr wideband
just put one in my car last week. install was pretty straight forward, but im having a few issues.
1) sometimes when i power up the wideband, instead of having the little line move across the display, i just get a bunch of blue dots liike stars in the sky. a quick off then on again usually fixes it. i think the sensor is still working though, the dots that move around the outside of the gauge still seem to read accurately.
2) datalogging to my neptune. i have the wideband output run from the analog plug to d14 in my ecu. plx is selected as my wideband and i have my o2 sensor disabled. when i first fire up the car it reads accurately on the laptop, then about 2-3 minutes after that its wayy off until eventually it just shows 10-12afr. the gauge itself is still functioning properly...
for 200 bucks im pretty happy as the sensor itself is like 100 bucks, these issues are just nuisances that i want to get cleared up

In neptune, is there a way to do voltage offset for the wideband signal? I know there is this ability in the hondata s300 and I used it to get the gauge to read the same as what the ecu was reading. What are you using for a ground on the plx unit?

the plx is grounded to the bare metal bracket down by where the main relay bolts up. all connections are soldered and heatshrinked. i think the issue might lie with the analog cable where it goes into the sm afr red box it seemed like a loose connection. im wondering if its common issue

still messing with the gauge thing. its getting annoying

Your ground definitely should not be hooked up to a random bracket. Some ground to the engine block, I've grounded directly to my ECU. The reason I ground to the ECU is because when datalogging the ECU is measuring the voltage (D14) against it's own ground.
Take a look at this setup for the LC-1:

ill check over the ground again, but its not a random bracket its the assembly that holds the steering column and dashboard it bolts right to the chassis. id think if the ground was bad the gauge wouldnt work at all. my issue just seems to arise when when i first go start the car or when its cold.

Re: few issues with plx sm-afr wideband
i still have the gauge. the numeric readout completely **** the bed about a year ago. the color coded sweep around the outside still works and it works just fine in my neptune. ive just got used to knowing where on the sweep is what general afr and if i need to make changes i datalog it. overall i wouldnt buy it again. it was easy to set up but thats where its positives end in my opinion. im disappointed. my other car has had the same plx m-300 unit it in for 7 years. it works just fine only had to replace the sensor from running leaded gas/burning oil

If you still have the LED sweep, it sounds like you may just need to perform a factory reset on the gauge to get your OLED display back in order. Do you still see the heartbeat on startup?
To perform a factory reset of the DM-6, power on the device. After you see the heartbeat screen start, immediately press and hold all three touch buttons (left, right, bottom) on the gauge. A message will appear stating that the gauge was reset to factory defaults.

This is really off topic but, blackeg, are you a TOOL fan? I read your reply about your gauge shitting the bed and couldn't help but ask haha.
