I got a set of Ferrea dual valve springs and retainers used from a friend for my gsr project. The previous owner used the stock spring locators that came in the head with the upgraded springs. Looking at Ferrea's website they sell 4 different springs for my head and have a few part numbers for the seat locators. ( I sent them a email asking for help).....

My question does anyone else run Ferrea valve springs with stock locators? When I put them up to the stock dual springs the diameter is identical and they fit fine on the locators...

Depends on the spring and the installed height you are looking to achieve. I ran a set of Ferrea's with stock seats with no problems. Now, once you get into the serious seat pressures, you need to upgrade the seats.

Thanks, I dont think they are the crazy stiff ones, I emailed Ferrea asking if there is a way to determine which springs I have with out sending them off to be tested for stiffness.
Where they the dual springs or singles that you ran with the stock seats?

They were dual, but most are. Have a machine shop check them out real quick. Don't use them until you know 100% what they are.

Im working with Ferrea now I will update the post for future refrence once I get to the bottom of it...
