the plots you posted are of the t3/t67 which is not the same as the big kahuna. the big kahuna uses a different turbine wheel and shaft.

you lost me on the enconell wheel deal, what the heck is all that, i know it has a compressor surge reducer on it, but the model i was looking at i think it has a gt40 compressor wheel in it

I didnt know this. I'm more than happy to remove my post I was under the impression the Big Kahuna and the T3/T67 used a 76 trim stage 5 turbine wheel?

well i think that the full race one has the enconell wheel in it , i know for shure that the to4r dos not cus i asked cheapturbo about it, it is the material the exhaust wheel is made from, it can handel more heat with out a melt down, i was going to get that turbo but i wanted the enconell wheel , so arturbo gave me s sweet deal on a sc61,

Re: feedback on the T3/T4R "big kahuna" (wantboost)
we use a larger turbine wheel than the big kahuna. In our opinion, the turbine wheel (Stage 5) that we use is small for that turbo, and a stage 3 (the turbine wheel used on a big kahuna) is even smaller, jsut about too small.
We make a hi-output t3/t67 using an even larger t4 turbine wheel, yet it stays in the t3 housing. This turbo makes as much as a straight t4/t67, but spools earlier and bolts up more easily.
the t67 wheel is NOT a gt40 wheel. precision used to tell people it was and i guess cheapturbo tells people it is, but it is NOT a gt40 wheel. The gt40 wheel that is the same size as the t67 has 7 blades, the t67 only has 6 blades.
The turbine wheel is made from a cast inconel material, which is the same for ALL garrett turbos, regardless of supplier.

Re: feedback on the T3/T4R "big kahuna" (Full-Race Geoff)
(soory to jack but) geoff, i'm interested in a t3/t67 for my civic. my goal is 600whp on a b16a, most likely 81mm 9:5:1c/r. i hope for most of that to be on pump gas. what combo would you recommend for that power level with a decent spool time (talking in terms of the size of that turbo) while still having decent flow?

Geoff what would you say is the difference in a T3 .82 A/R with a P trim turbine wheel compared to a T4 .68 A/R with P trim? WHP and/or spool? I would guess about 500rpm spool difference and about 30-40whp?? Have you done any testing between the two, maybe we can get a certain NorthEast T3/T67 owner to swap this out which I believe he was talking about and test it out!

Re: feedback on the T3/T4R "big kahuna" (wantboost)
want boost -- it is very difficult to make 600 whp on an 81mm b16a, particularly if you want the car to live on pump gas. If you want decent spool and that kind of power, you will need big cams, a heavily ported head, bigger valves, and one of our high output t3/t67s. A gt35R may be another viable option, it looks like we are getting some this week btw.
terry -- i think you are pretty much on point between the two. who is the person you are thinking about ?

If you want 600whp out of that b16 setup your talking about, get the turbo with a p-trim wheel and .82 a/r exhaust housing.

Re: feedback on the T3/T4R "big kahuna" (Boostfed)
oh, sleeves definitely. i was thinking 83mm, p&p head. .5mm over valves. itr cams. i want room to grow the bores in case something goes wrong *knock on wood* geoff has suggested the gt3071r to me while not exactly meeting my power goals, it is close enough and will have a better spool and powerband for the street

I got my turbo from Cheapturbo.Com
It's a T3/T04R....the big kahuna.
I got mine with a STG 3 .82 A/R exhaust and 67-1 .70 intake side. I don't know how it works yet since it's not in as of yet.
If anyone has a compressor map for this turbo, please post.
