Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the differences between Drag, Rev Hard, F-Max, and Greddy?

A: This is a difficult question to answer, but I will tell you what I know based on my year's
research. They are all pretty good kits. Greddy and F-Max have the most straight forward installations,
meaning that there is very little or no self-fabricating of parts. Greddy, however is designed
to be street and CARB legal in most areas in that the turbine uses a built in wastegate called an
"actuator". These type of turbines usually produce less power than that of ones that require
an external wastgate.
Component-wise, Rev Hard, Drag, and F-Max are very similar. The major difference is that F-Max
includes it own detonation solution as well as fuel solution (if you choose the full kit).

Q: Are they easy to install?

A: If you are pretty good with tools and know how to replace an exhaust manifold or change your oil,
you'll probably be able to do it in about 8 to 16 hours. if this is your first tie install
and not very clear on the basic mechanics of a turbo or an engine, then you may want to get someone
with experience help you.

Q: I heard that F-Max uses extra injectors to supply fuel. Is this good?

A: At relatively low boosts (up to 15psi) the extra injectors and MF2 are quite reliable and does
produce good decent power of 100hp or more (depending on yuor engine and its condition). For those
who prefer to use their own fuel solution, you can opt for a stand alone kit and save $200 off the
full kit price.

Q: Should I get a tune up first?

A: Its always best to install any upgrades on a healthy engine!!

Q: Why is F-Max so much more expensive than the other kits?

A: One word: Quality! F-Max offers quality parts and a virtually plug and play install, yet produces
plentiful power. No other kits can claim the this.

Q: Is $3250 a good price for the full kit?

A: Check fo yourself! I've spen a month looking for the absolute best
price I could find. I've seen it go as high as $4500 on some sites!! At $3250, plus the 10% off deal onthe suppliers site
I can honestly say, you won't find any better!

Q: Is shipping included?

A: No, but it runs about $70.00 average (in US)

Q: How do I join?

A: E-mail me at: MiraiZ@gol.com and I will send you the info and you can talk to the supplier directly.

This sounds like such a good deal, Im intrested too and had a few questions also.

1.What does the GSR kit come with, does it use a lower compression gasket or the msd boost management module?

2. Do I need the MF2 and extra injectors if Im only going to run low boost, like less than 10psi?

3. I already have a full MSD ignition system installed, would it intefere with the kit?

4. What addtional parts would I need if any to install this on a GSR?

Thanks...

Hi thanks the questions here are the answers as I know them...

1. you can choose either as your detonation manager...

2. You don't need to get the MF2 if you have your own fuel solution, you can opt for a stand alone kit or the full kit. However, if you do stand alone, you'll need to provide your own fuel solution (eg high pressure fuel pumps)

3. I'm not too familar with MSD full, but if it retards the timing, you may be better off getting the head gasket option. otherwise make sure that they both work together,

4. If you are getting the full kit, then you may want to buy some gauges...other than that the kit is pretty comprehensive.

Just keep in mind, that they bothe share a lot of the same components so whatever you get will work well. If you don't mind doing a littlt extra work and wan to go for complete stand alone plus have some goodies to play with, then Ben's deal may be better. If you are on a budget, need to get the install right, on the first try, and be dependable too, then join this buy in...

There are several areas you can tune to get the optimum perfomance...you can tune MF2 to get the best fuel performance and the wastegate for the best psi...But if you want more control over the car..I recommend getting a boost controller, and some kind of A/F controller...

Buy-in ends in 30 days!! If you are still thinking about joining ...this is a heads up...I might end it before that, because I know there are those who want it sooner!!

dude, i'm in the buyin too.
i'm goin with modified kit (no extra inject. or FMU)
i'm getting a Hondata ECU system and RC 440 injex.
either way you need to get to a Dyno guy to get the most from your turbo.
i'm drivin all the way to Toronto to have mine tuned. Some have said you may never even know the turbo is there till you have it tuned right.

i won't even be able to go all out with mine till i save the money to put in a new clutch! oh well.

I'm looking to get a turbo around the end of september so I might go for this. Can you just take a minute to explain to me the differences between fmax's fuel managment and getting a pump and fmu and all that stuff.

Thanks

OK, I've been reading more and more. You can 80% count me in. I can't fully commit yet, but I'm pretty sure.

fmax adds 2 extra injectors at the intake before the throttle body and adds an electronic unit to change fuel depending on boost.

A better solution is to upgrade injectors and add an ECU unit that sees boost ie Hondata.

at the end of the day they all serve the same functions...the MF2 is somewhat more limiting in that its only reliable up to about 15psi...any more and you run the danger of going too lean...

My goal w/ my car is a super reliable daily driver. So I was only gunna run about 9psi. So you recommend the Fmax w/ the MF2 then?

Also, two more questions. Which BOV does this kit come with? And what else would I need after this kit? Guages, boost controler (manual), a missing link, and new plugs? Would I need to upgrade my ignition? Anything else?
