damn, just when i thought i had everything planned out, i run into this problem. the car is a 96 civic, im trying to put a Xs engineering skyline intercooler on there.
the core is 28"-11" plus the end tanks. it wont fit. its too thick to fit behind the bumper support, and if i take the metal bumper support i can mount it up, but the front bumper wont stay on the car, it sags down like an inch. what should i do???? i was thinking about cutting the bumper support to get it to fit, but i dont feel like dying when i get in a wreck. plus that is some thick *** metal. how have u guys got ur intercoolers to fit on an ek? and theres no way im gonna buy a smaller intercooler, thats just dumb, ill sell the turbo kit before i get a smaller intercooler.

bang the **** outta it with hammer, after wasting enough time and still not enough clearance, cut the bumper.

I dont really see a way to get that big of a intercooler in there without removing or doing some major major cutting of the bumper support. You would need to notch the entire bottom side out so just the top thin part of the support is there.

the only problem is cutting that bumper, thats some thick ****, i already tried to cut it with a wiz wheel, and it just ate up the blade, what should i cut it with????

maybe a muffler shop might do it for you with a torch cutter? A good saws all or wheel should but it though.

yea i never thought of a acytelyne torch, i actually have one sitting in the corner of the garage, guess ill try that

or go to a junkyard and fish around and get a used one....and you can cut that

yea, its kinda hard finding a bumper in the junk yard, considering 90% of wrecks are front collisions, oh well ill see what i can find

home depot, buy some power tools. Then later return it.

well as for the bumper support you may just have to take it off and zipt tie it to the frame, with the intercooler piping supporting it up. that's what i'm doing currently and it works perfectly and is very solid.

if you insist on having the bumper support along with the stock bumper, maybe try a heavy duty sawzall? if that can't cut it i'm not really sure what can. anyway, good luck bro, it'll be worth it in the end fo sho.

use a SAWZALL.. that eats bumper supports.

and an angle grinder.
