external coil conversion
 

I have an msd btm standalone... i dont think it is going to work, looking at the helms there is the coil and CYP and ICM all contained within the distributor. Is there an easy(haha) way to convert to an external coil. and what will happen to the ICM. That seems pretty damn necessary. I think accel sells a kit that relocates and upgrades....but im a cheap bastard.

BTW.. it's a 98 acccord

hey, don't know how much different yours is than mine but I have a crane BTM (boost retard) ignition system.

TO convert the stock distributor, all I had to do was pull out the original ignitor, get a 4 post terminal, run two wires into the distributor and attach to one side of terminal, then take off positive and negative from inside dist and attach to other side of terminal.

Maybe I'm not understanding what your asking but if I do, its easy. Just make sure you have new dist cap that accepts 5th wire from external coil.
