Default exhuast leak, mani -> turbo....thread are messed up

Can someone please explain to me what's up with my exhaust leak. So this is what's going on....I have a screw and when I screw it into just the maifold, it goes all the way through with no problem. And then when I screw it into just the turbo, it goes all the way throuugh with no problem. The problem comes when I try and screw the two together. The screw just seizes up and won't screw all the way in, and the threads end up getting stripped if I try and force it. And when they stop screwing in, the turbo and mani are still seperated by about 1/8" and aren't even flush together and I can't exert any more force to turn that damn bolt.

Can someone please give me some suggestions to why this is happening and also what I should do about it. I'm thiking to just get the manifold re-drilled. But wiill that cause an exhaust leak too? I know it will be much smaller of a leak from what I've got now, but I already had to get the mani re-tapped because the thread pitch was wrong when I first received it. So I'm not sure if I want to risk going that route again. Please help. Thanks

so I guess i'll just get the manifold redrilled without any threads. I hope I don't get a leak.

Could always look into a Manifold with a lifetime warrenty against cracks....

Oh the manifold's not cracked...the threads just don't match up, so I can't get the manifold and the turbo to bolt together flush.

just run a tap through it, or, get a shorter bolt...

u might try using studs on the manifold turbine flange with nuts/washers on the turbine housing. i used this method on a t25 manifold./turbine housing before, but i had to redrill the turbine housing to accept the larger dia studs i used.

The bolts are shorter than the threads combined so they should be working, but I will try shorter bolts.

And I would have used nuts/washers, except that I would only be able to use 3 of the bolts, because the 4th one ends inside of the housing.

Keep the suggestions coming please...

Ok, incase anyone was wondering what my problem was. Imagine you're looking at the threads straight on, the manifold threads ended around 3 oclock; while the turbo thread didn't start until 11 oclock. So basically there was almost a full rotation of the bolt before it started screwing together. And there is no way of getting rid of the gap because it's a screw. Unless I rotated the entire housing around, I guess. But anyway, I'm just running 3 bolts right now and I guess I'll drill the holes out at a later date....whenever I feel like taking everything apart again.

Thanks for your help
