Exhaust choking or turbo?
Whats up, ive been thinkin latetly that i might have messed up goin with a .48A/R exhaust on my t3to4E turbo. I wanted to know some opinions on weather a .48A/R exhaust is going to actually "choke" up top on an f22b1 2.2. I know i can get better flow with a .63 but is my turbo actually choking up in higer rpm? It feels like this sometimes in 5th gear...but i also have one small section of exhaust that is stock and also the stock cat converter. What i baisically want to know is if the turbo is choking up...any one run a .48A/R exhaust in an accord? Thanks in advance

Re: Exhaust choking or turbo? (truesleeper)
you might want to explain in detail what the "choking" feels like.. how does the car/engine sound when its "choking", how does the car feel, does the power decrease or does the car fall on its face, etc... This could help determine the problem, which might not even be the turbo itself (ie. detonation)...

Re: Exhaust choking or turbo? (Group Tenacity)
Aright as for performance it seems like no matter how much i press the pedal im not feeling that much acelleration, it def doesnt just hit a wall, its just a little sluggish. down shifting to 4th is better but still feels like its holding back. The sound it makes is like a resonating that gets louder and louder the more i push the pedal, nothing like detonation...its hard to explain the sound, all i can say is its the resonating sound of the exhaust only it gets loud. Thanks for the responce.

my old setup on my ls had a .48 a/r and the stock cat on it. it was very sluggish at the top end and just fell on its face with no power up top. once you just go with a straight through exhaust where the cat was you will notice a big difference

Re: (Turboaddict)
Thanks sounds good. I was planning on doin the ehaust this weekend. I dont care if im not gettin AS big gains on top because i liek the fast spool up of the .48 what i didnt want is it actually getting strangled to death to the point where exhaust pressure was backing up in the combustion chamber. The car spinns tires thru 1st and 2nd, and 3rd pulls real hard, i just want a lil pull on the freeway. When i do the exhaust ill post if its any different.
