from searching, creating threads, and talking with people I came to my own conclusion that the exedy would probably be a better choice for a street driven car. Not say that the tilton can't be or isn't as good....but I noticed a general concensus that the exedy had nicer engagement.

I can report back in a week or so once I get the car back....oh and I bought the exedy fyi.

i have a tilton twin disc cerametallic. i used it in my street car last summer, with no problems, engaugement was fine, not alot of pedal pressure either. now the clutch is in the 800+ hp race car, with over 8 dyno pulls and 8 times down the track, the clutch is still grabbing like a mother, but the pads are starting to get chewed up a little, around the top corners.

we have an Exedy twin in our CRX. engagement is easy to learn and pedal effort is fine, esp considering its a cable trans. No complaints here. I got the exedy simply bc Ive installed several and the price is right

Damn, wasn’t there a post on this SAME TOPIC like yesterday.
Ok a few months ago, it was the tilton “best thing ever”
The bandwagon now is Exedy, so feel free to jump on.
I really feel different people are willing to tolerate different things. I had a six puck disc and I Hated it, but I see others that think they are great. The price is great, and so was the holding capabilities of it, but engagement licked *****.
Bottom line: clutched are like girls, every guy (or girl,YEAH) likes something a little different in them. <--- no pun.

I will tell you that all the Twin Discs are GREAT!!!! I have and use a Competition Twin Disc it is great, I know of people using the Exedy Twin andthey all love it, Tiltons too they love it and also Clutchmasters. You can't go wrong with any of those at all, funny thing is I carry all of them too

Edit:I did drive my buddie's EVO VIII yesterday with an Exedy Twin Disc(which he bought from me ) and it was like a STOCK *** CLUTCH and it didnt chatter and make noise like the Honda twin disc clutches do.

Well I just drove the tilton carbon/carbon today...

The pedal tension is the same or lighter than stock.
It is super light weight (11lbs for the complete clutch and flywheel together) so it rev's up like a bike

The engagement (sp?) point is super tight, maybe a 1/4" of pedal travel.
It does however engage really smooth and is easy to get the hang of.

It does not make any noise at all (at least that I can tell... lol)

all in all ... I love it
