Evans Tuned 500+ HP DD RSX Type S!!!
Towed the car out to Evans on the 31st and was pretty pleased w/ the results. This was my first engine build and only my second swap, only one way to learn I guess. All work was done by me from the build to the swap and turbo install. Had a problem w/ a cracked ring the first time and had Jeff break her in on the dyno this time. These are the only things changed since the incident:
-Supertech valvetrain
-Switched to an Apexi AVCR boost controller
-Switched couplers to hump couplers w/ t-bolts
-Bored .040 over
-Wiseco 87MM 9:1 Pistons
-Mild hand head polishing and cleaning
These things added 5hp overall at .5 less psi. And 50 ft lbs of torque in the midrange. Not only this but the T3/T67 spooled 700 rpms sooner!
Full Setup:
SCI Turbo Kit/ Sidemount manifold
T3/T67 Turbo w/ Stage 3 Compressor Wheel .63AR
Clutchmasters FX600 Twin Disc
Apexi AVCR Boost Controller
Engine:
Golden Eagle HD Sleeves ( Thanks Camp1320!)
ARP Headstuds
Carrillo Rods
Wiseco 87MM 9:1 Pistons
Block .040 overbored
Cometic Headgasket/OEM Bearings/Seals/Oil Pump
Fuel Setup:
Bosch 044 Fuel Pump
Aeromotive A-1000 Fuel Pressure Regulator
BDL Fuel Rail
Precision 1000CC Injectors
Marshall 0-1000PSI Fuel Gauge
Custom Fuel Pickup
-8 AN Feed/ -6 AN Return
Here is the race and pump gas sheet together:
And the post on Evans Tuning website:
http://forums.evans-tuning.com...=3854
Car made 570 hp/390 ft lbs at 28 PSI basically maxing out the small .63AR housing.
Tell me what you guys think. I need some opinions on turbo upgrades, what can I do to this T3/T67, P-Trim? Or should I just ditch this turbo for a 35R/.83AR?
Happy Boosting!!!

I just saw that on evans tuning. Sick car and setup. the large GT3582R would be a good choice. incredible power though, props.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys.
I can't imagine the quicker spool of a BB turbo on this car. Its out of control fast now. I'm definately going to get some more seat time and hit the track before making improvements.
All this power was made through a 2.5" downpipe also. The placement of the SCI manifold won't allow a 3" downpipe. I think w/ an upgrade in manifold and downpipe alone will net quite a bit more power.

You may want to put that money into traction control

Re: Evans Tuned 500+ HP DD RSX Type S!!! (Boosted B6teen)
Yeah, I really need to setup the boost by gear on my AVCR and purchase some BFG's for the street.
Seems the 35R is the consensus so that most likely will be the next step. As well as a B+M oil cooler and Quaife LSD.

You can keep a t3 hotside, but jesus get rid of that Stage 3 turbine wheel, I'd go with the Ptrim stuffed into a .82 t3 housing, or do the suggested T4 hotside.

Re: (xenocron)
Yes, all engine assembly was done by me over the winter. I also did new seals, valvesprings, and retainers after the first tuning session.
I just want to take the time to thank Justin and Chad over at SCI. They are a fairly new company but have helped me out majorly. Their kit is perfect for those who want extreme numbers at a reasonable price. Justin and I are working out the details of a new setup. This one will easily break the 600 barrier w/ room to grow.
