Engine Rebuilt and I think im burning oil
Ok my new engine has 1500 miles on it and when I change the oil on my car today only 3 3/4 of oil was in there. I changed the oil 500 miles before this one and put in about 4.5 quarts. P.S. I have a greddy oil cooler, could some of the oil have stayed inside the oil cooler and didnt come out of the pan completely?

Are you running a turbo? Maybe your turbo oil seal is blown. I used to go through tons of oil when it was blown.
Also, did you see any type of leak under the car?

If you have a oil cooler it is possible that some stayed in. This comes down to how hot the motor was when you drained the oil. Was the motor hot the one time and cold the second? I would contiune to monitor it. While having over 1k miles to me is broken in I have heard of over 3k for it to get the rings seated.
Is it blowing smoke out the tail pipe turning start up or harder acceleration?
