Engine oil comin out of MBC !!! WTF?!!? ARRGH!!
I put in a ball-spring type MBC I had made. First test drive was OK, but after some high rpm hard runs, I noticed traces of oil coming out of it! Is this normal?
I also didn't notice in the quicker in spool up time?? It felt the same to me.

thats not normal unless your intercooler pipes are getting oil in them and you have your vaccum line teed into..

The MBC is inline with the feed from the intake manifold to the side port of the wastegate. It is tee'd at the intake mani, the other line from this tee goes to somewhere at the back of the block.... Anyone know what line is this?
If the turbo is at fault, so how does the oil get here??

What other signs will indicate that the seals on the turbo are gone? Are they easy to replace? and what would have caused the blown seals if this is the case?

So if I had oil in the charge piping then it indicates 100% that its the seals that are shot?? How much do they cost to replace normally??

if there is a littlle oil in it on the turbo side before the intercooler thats okay. all turbos leak a little. if its alot and it past the intercooler on the other side close to the TB and all up in the BOV then the seals are definitly shot. try cheapturbo.com for the rebuild

I'm willing to bet you've got it hooked inline with the pcv valve. Unless you have a catchcan there will always be oil vapors in this line. Might want to relocate the mbc feed line somewhere else to keep oil from caking up inside and messing up the actuation of the spring/ball inside.

OK. More questions. Looking at the intake manifold from the front of the car, it has two tubes connected into it. The one on the right on the manifold goes into the fueal pressure regulator and the middle one goes into the back of the block. What is this line that goes into the block? Is the suppose to be oil in this line?? I've got the MBC Tee'd into this line and then it goes into the wastegate. Is this correct?
If the turbo seals are gone, would it be not drivable at all? or would the turbo still spool but just smoky??
Help!! I need some answers!

Re: (00si5)
The tube goes from back of the block straight into the middle port of the intake manifold. This is the stock setup. All I've done is T'd this tube and feed it into the MBC and then into the wastegate side port. Oil is comin out of the MBC, so there must be oil in this line ??
I'll try to take some pics and post it up later.

check if it is going into what I can best describe as a black box on the back of the motor. if it is connected to the black box, well then there is your answer right there. that is the PCV system. there will always be oil in that line, hence crankcase ventilation. if you don't have to many things tee'd of on the fpr, hook it up there. another option is just go from the turbo to the MBC to the wastegate, although this way is not entirely accurate because you will be seeing boost pressure before the intercooler and not in the manifold. in other words the mbc could be set to like 10psi but the manifold will only see 7maybe 8 psi because of pressure drop. anyway, to make a long story short, if you tee'd into the black box, tee off of something else.

OK here are some pics. Hopefully I'll get a definitive answer with these..
Here are the two ports..You can see on the far right is the MBC and on the left T'd into the black hose to the middle port of the manifold.
As you can see, the one on the right goes into the FPR, the middle black one goes down into the block...
Here it is going into the block..
on the left next to the injector..
and on the top neext to the injector..
Someone must know!!

i could be wrong but that looks like you teed into a pcv valve. pull out the valve thats to the left of the injector look at the bottom of it and shake it. if its dirty on the bottom and something rattles in it then its the pcv valve. dont T it there. i could be wrong but it look exactly like the valve on top of the charcoal canister.

Re: (00si5)
It came off quite easily. Its like a rubber bung that fits into a hole in the block. With it out all I can see is a hole....?? I couldn't get my finger in there as the hole is quite small but I think there is small traces of oil in it.

when your car is running and you pull it out see if it squirts oil out of the hole. just plug up the end of it with your finger and your car should idle normally with no vacuum leak

Thats not a good place to tap for vacuum. The pvc will pull crankcase oil vapors and so will any vacuum line that is T'd off it. Change your vac location and you should be ok.

Yep, you tee'ed into the PCV valve circuit. move the MBC line to another clean vac source.

Can u be more specific. Which vac source is the best to tee into?
