Energy Suspension Motor mount inserts
I can't afford Hasports right now.
I seen some Energy Suspension Motor mount inserts online for $40 .
Has anyone use them before? Are they worth it?

Re: Energy Suspension Motor mount inserts
If you are going to do them its best to do the motor mount inserts and the torque mount inserts. this will make the motor pretty solid and reduce wheel hop as well as not have much vibration. ive been runnign all the inserts in my dc2 for 3 years now and my motor is still rock solid

I had them on my old integra. I couldn't stand the extra vibration! I hated the way my steering wheel would shake at idle. But if that's not something that would bother you, then go for it!

it will shake VIOLENTLY the first couple of months,
but eventually it softens up,
im not sure if you just get used to it, or if they are breaking in...

Re: Energy Suspension Motor mount inserts
I think you just got used to them haha. I had them for about 2 years and I don't think it ever softened up. I wouldn't say the shaking was violent, just annoying. It probably wouldn't have bothered me so much if I didn't have friends with similar cars I could compare it too.
I assume (but don't know first hand) that solid mounts like hasports would be just as bad. So if that is what you are looking for, I think the inserts are good for the money. Despite the vibration, they do what they are supposed to.

Re: Energy Suspension Motor mount inserts
Okay I started to install the ES torq mount kit today, got the 2 lower passanger and driver inserts in, but how in the hell do you get the rear torq inserts in without removing the engine?
This is the kit im using.

i had a mount brack on my civic and used energy suspension mount inserts and they worked great even with a broken mount. To get the rear mount you might have to take it off the engine install the mount insert then put back on car

Re: Energy Suspension Motor mount inserts
easy. take the one bolt out of the back of the mount (the one that connects to the rear subframe mount jack the back of the engine up with a floor jack loosen the 2 side mounts (so the engine will raise more) then take the mount off insert them, and place back in the rear bracket.

I have them on all five motor mounts and I love it! I will upgrade to
better ones when I need to. I don't have anywhere near as much
vibrations as other solid mount replacements though.

First few weeks/month the vibration was pretty noticable. You'll get used to it and it gets alot better.
As for the rear mount: Lots of extensions and u-joints:

Re: Energy Suspension Motor mount inserts
I used these AND re-enforced them by drilling into them and throwing in bolts to keep them together and they still didnt hold up to 223ft/lbs of torque. I had a nice ding in my hood from the VC hitting it.
I got HardRace mounts for 250 for all 5 and havent had any problems. They dont shake the wheel and are alot harder than OE mounts.
Highly recommended over hasports!
