Default ENDYN Steppey pulley belt slippage.

Alright....I have a stepper pulley from ENDYN and it was just installed on my car about a week ago. A problem has arose...slippage. The belt wants to keep slipping off of the pulley, especially at higher RPM's. It has already been tightened, that cured it for about 3 days, its now doing it again. Does ANYONE have a solution to this besides tightening the belt everyday which would be a major PIA! Thank you very much.

Joe.

this sounds like a dumb question, but is the pulley aligned with the other two pullies? i've heard of this problem before, i think where the belt was shredding due to it not being aligned with the other pullies.

Usually the belts jump ribs when the pulleys arent aligned right, not just slip. This occurs on the stock JR alternator pulley when the alternator bracket is installed improperly.

His problem is the belt constantly slipping due to the lame design of the Endyn pulley.

i don't know about you guys, (seems like we're the only jrsc heads holding down the fort these days...) but the bolt on my blower pulley adjustment bracket busted, and because the standard 620 belt wouldn't fit (hondata intake gasket?) i had to use a 640...these two problems led me to have to get creative and get a new bolt and extend it...here is a pic of what i am talking about.

Here you see 1 bolt (regular size) pushing on another bolt (cut) in order to tension the blower belt....

Jackson, is the belt that is slipping going from the blower to the alternator? If it is, maybe try this or get a longer bolt so that you can tighten the belt even further...even with the stock bolt bottomed out, if you look at the bracket, it has more to go...

BTW - the top of the second bolt was drilled out to provide a hole so that the top bolt could push down on it.

I think I'm gonna try and squeeze a smaller belt on there somehow. Anybody have any more input?

Heres some things to check:

Make sure the Alt pulley is butted up against the it's stop , and tightend correctly.

Make sure the belt is riding in the center of the idler pulley between the Alt and the Blower pulley. Sometimes you have to grind down the spacer the idler pulley to cenetr the belt.( It can run too close to the edge of the pulley.

Make sure the Jackson bracket is on correctly , ie. the two washers that come in the kit are in right, and the bushing is in the lower Alt bracket .

As for tensioning the belt , Try and select a belt which will allow the tensioner to 3/4 of it's travel , then tension it .

Hope this helps , The only belt problems we see is install error.

No install error - the 620 was NOT going on! Everything was on correctly. The Bando 620 belt must have been a freak from the factory or something...but we measured it and it was 24.5 which is right, so go figure.

What size pulley do you have on the Blower? , You have a Endyn steppey pulley on the alterantor right?
