Default EM1 Greddy turbo kit plans, any advice?

I'm planning on buying a used Greddy kit for my EM1. The kit is complete, minus the emanage. I'm not new to boosting, had a Greddy kit on my 93 Civic EX and have had WRX, STi, etc.

I've been out of the Honda boosting scene for a while and just looking for comments/advice, especifically on Engine management.

Should I buy the emanage, go with Hondata, or go with opensource? Is tuning something I could learn to do myself or take it to a tuner? Should I upgrade anything on the kit?

I know that an issue with these kits was the rubber return line, is there a better return line kit out there?

Thanks.

How much power are you trying to make? What is the car used for? What kind of gas? How much is your budget? How much for the kit?

i encourage you to tune the car yourself. you'll learn and understand more about your car this way. tuning is easy to learn but it'll take a lot experience to perfect. you can make good power with the 18g turbo. don't waste your time with emanage, there's too many better alternatives out there. good luck!

I'm not trying to make crazy power, I would say 225-250 at most. The car is used for as a daily driver second car. I use it most of the time to drive to/from work about 15 mins each way. I use 91 octane gas since that's what we have in CA. Hmmm, don't have a budget right now, but going with the kit since it's smog legal. Not planning on going with a crazy setup that will require alot of money though. I'm getting the complete kit for 1350.

What do you recommend for engine management? How difficult is it to tune your own car and what tools would I need to perform this?

Search is the key. Any info that would help you would be here.

I've used both Crome Pro and Hondata on my old Greddy setup, in which both builds are in that thread. Either one works great for a Greddy kit. I would suggest Hondata because I know for a fact that you're gonna upgrade later on so might as well as have it already.
